Hi Peoples,

I'm curious as to whether anyone has tried Dramamine and had any reportable response?

Dramamine is a motion sickness (antihistamine) medication available OTC that Dr Harold Levinson claims has some benefits. Now, for some reason I went and bought some today, but then I had second thoughts. I came home and looked up the reference that got me onto the idea in the beginning. Since then I have discovered that another doctor (Dr Wiliam Crook) has made claims about something to do with yeast sensitivity - particularly Candida Albicans. The funny thing is, the Crook doctor is a pediatrician and allergist. Allergist... antihistamine... allergy.... antihistamine... hmmmmm..... anyone else see a connection there? Both claim success with different groups. I've currently gone back to my original idea that it's worth a try, particularly after having it confirmed indirectly by another 'source'.

Unfortunately, I am left to do self-experimentation yet again, which is not uncommon with my condition of ADHD - deliberately or not. Both of these doctors have been branded as 'unscientific' as they have not published any controlled studies of their findings according to my current source. Again I hesitated... but then I remembered what I know about Sigmund Freud... and many people consider him the 'father of modern psychotherapy'!

It works good for motion sickness... it also tends to make me sleepy... In middle school my best friend and I decided to snort it.. It did absolutely nothing.... we were weird i guess O.o

It's anticholinergic.

It is sedating.

How is that helpful to ADD?

I think you are confusing sedating antihistamines like (Dramamine) with the stimulating decongestants (such as Pseudoephedrine).

The latter are similar to amphetamines. Various unsavory types make "meth" from mass quantities of this cold pill.

There was an old idea that people with ADD have "inner ear problems" related to congestion and balance (the vestibular system) centre's in the ear.

That's never been proven, IIRC.
