Now first off, I do think that ADD/ADHD is real, (very real), but would like how each of you think about Sylvias suggestions on people taking fish oil, flax pills, Vitamin E, B, B12, food allergies, etcc to help cure symptoms that sound allot like having ADD/ADHD?
I just want to gather peoples suggestions on if these substances can work with helping with ADD/ADHD?

Is this the same Sylvia Brown that James Randi is talking about here: http://www.randi.org/sylvia/index.html ?
If so, i would not trust any advice from her. I think you better take advice from someone who's qualified.
When and where did Sylvia Browne talk about this? And are you talking about the psychic?

What does a psychic have to do with neurobiology? *sigh*
Does one go to a mechanic for legal advice? A lawyer for car advice?

There is no offense taken. I thought you were talking about the psycic. There is a psychic named Sylvia Brown.
I take those same vitamins and herbs.

She is the "psychic" right?
I've never heard of any well known medical professionals named Sylvia Browne so I just assumed Wex was talking about the psychic.
But, there are well known ADHD medical experts like Dr Hallowell and Dr Amen who do recommend Fish oil. I've also read books by nutritionists who recommend B vitamins for ADHD too.

It doesn't matter who said it, does it? What OP wrote is a list of supps recommended by physicians that individuals have found that can help alleviate (cure is too strong of a word) some of the symptoms of ADHD. Every person is different, there are many health issues that can cause some of the symptoms of ADHD, and the only way to know is to try the methods and see if they help you or not.
There is no one protocol that helps everyone.

I've been taking fish oil (Omega 3) for at over 3 years and would not have done that if it hadn't been helping me. It was actually scary when I ran out and realized what a fog I'd been living in before I started taking it. Fortunately it works for me and it's cheap.
I also take magnesium (in combination with calcium and zinc). And have tried adding B vitamins to the regimen. So far the fish oil has been most helpful. I can't remember where I read that the flax oil is not utilized in the same way by our bodies. I tried it for awhile and it certainly was not as helpful for me as the fish oil was.

I think it *does*. It is easy for her to copy a nutrient advice for ADD that can indeed be found in any good book about ADD and then claim it is her psychic powers that made her come to that remarkable spirit-guide induced insight, thus making more people dispose their critical thinking and become susceptible to all other sorts of crackpot hogwash.
Ye gods, have you read that article about colonic irrigation as a treatment for AD/HD  ?
It scares me.

Wow, I learned alot by reading these post. I didnt mean to upset anyone. I do take b6 and b12, magnesium ( just ran out) flaxseed, A, E( hotflashes). There is a book I recommend by Christian Northrup called Womens Bodies Womens Wisdom (http://www.amazon.com/Womens-Bodies-Wisdom-Christiane-Northrup/dp/0553382098). It is a great book and would recommend it for a library.
