Is there any help out there for people (like me) who don't have insurance and can't afford Meds and doctors visits while going to school?
Are there any over the counter alternatives? nothing probably works as good as meds obviously. I remember creatine making me feel similar to Adderall would that help temporarily until I can afford?

My school had an emergency medication fund.

Go talk to your Student Health Centre, Disability Office and Student Awards office and ask about emergency help.

Can't say more b/c you don't give a location.

My school has a psychiatrist in the Student Health Center that I see. I also get Perscription assistance from Shire on my adderall XR.

I pay full price for dexedrine (5 mg tablets) -
- and in comparison to pretty much any medicine I've ever taken previously -
it comes in at pretty much the cheapest -

- most of the others (though)
- are real expensive -
I chose to come off stratera when I heard how much Lilly were tapping our health system for -
- certainly the benefits were not worth that kinda' money -
- in the presence of dexedrine (at least)

... ... it's just regular basic dexedrine which comes in relatively inexpensively.

It works though (better than the rest for me - at least) -
- and I really didn't mind taking it x4 times per day (when I started) - nor x2 times per day now -
it helped me with my ADDer sense of time

... ... which is not to suggest that stimulants should be prescribed as cure to the timepiece-less

:-)

watches are probably a better investment - all things considered.

I would think that any immediate release stimulant medication (with the exception of Desoxyn) should be fairly inexpensive (but prices do vary, and it seems that Adderall IR is a bit expensive). Many have issues with prescribing it though (many consider it more abusable).

Rudegar! This website has helped me a ton: http://www.needymeds.com/indices/discountcards.tml

Scroll down to #4. There are two programs there where all you do is print out a little card and take it to your pharmacy.

I get my monthly script for generic Dex at Albertson's pharmacy, using the Pharmacy Reward Card for about $24. I found out today that the same script at Wal-Mart (which is known for having some of the best prescription prices) for $36. A $12 savings doesn't seem like a lot, but it adds up over time.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
