Hi!
I currently take Ambien CR but there is no prescription assistance program for that so I'm thinking about trying the new medicine "Rozeram" because they do offer prescription assistance programs. Has anyone tried Rozeram, and if so how did it work for you? If you have ever taken Ambien, how did the Rozeram compare to the Ambien?

Thanks,
Tammy

I have taken both, and I like them both.

The difference for me was that the Ambien would help me fall asleep, and then continue to help me stay asleep until it wore off. Often times though, I felt a tad sluggish the next morning, but it was not debilitating.

Rozerem helps me fall asleep, and that is it. Once asleep I have always slept like a log. My problem has always been with just the falling asleep part. That is all Rozerem is really good for, which made it perfect for me. It has never made me sluggish in the morning, and in fact it's typically not a good choice for people who have trouble waking periodically through the night. For people like that Ambien, or perhaps something stronger would be a better choice. Rozerem can help you fall asleep, but then your on your own so to speak. ;)

It could be helpful to test your response to melatonin, which is available over the counter*, before getting Rozerem, as Rozerem's mode of action is stimulation of melatonin receptors.

* imo, the doses usually sold are a bit high. 1mg is more reasonable than 3mg.
