The doc wants me to try a combination of Adderall extended in the am with Provigil in the pm. If I am still getting that withdrawn/anti-social feeling I usually get from Adderall I am to switch to Provigil 2x/day.

So...anyone try Provigil yet for ADD, I know it's off-label, but if it works I am all for it?

I am interested. I read on Wikipedia (which, of course, is always completely factual) that doctors aren't sure if actually has a positive effect on helping attention span or executive functioning.

I took it for a short time in the fall, but it was for fibromyalgia and cfs. I had been on adderall for adhd as well as cfs and fibro, which was great for me for concentration, but wasn't helping me with energy. So I was switched to Provigil to try to conquer the fatigue. It gave me some energy, but as far as cognitive help I felt like I couldn't even concentrate on it. So then we added back adderall to see if I could get the good benefits of both, but for me it just didn't work out. Now I'm back to just adderall and can think for the most part but am just as tired as ever.

That's just my experience. Since I have the fibro and cfs that factored in, so who knows, it might work out great for you. Good luck--I'd love to hear how you do with this combo!

I've been on Provigil since July 07. Used to take it with Adderall but I switched over to Vyvanse (but still take Provigil with it). Strange medication is all I can say....hard to explain.

Imagine drinking several cups of coffee ...... but without the jitteriness that caffeine gives. You wake up and stay awake until it wears off. There's been times when I want to take a nap, lay down, then give up because I can't fall asleep (which never happens with someone who has been sleep deprived for 10+ years!). Don't take provigil too late in the day or you'll pay the price.

Doesn't do much for attention issues but since I have sleep apnea it helps with the fatigue issues and Vyvnase handles the attention problems. I take 200mg in the AM and 200mg at lunch and that gets me through the day.

I tried it for a while. It does work, but for me, stimulant medication works better.
