I'm wondering if anyone else is on or has been on zoloft and adderall at the same time. How did they work? Are they safe to use together?? Thanks.

I was on Zoloft and Adderall at the same time until about a week ago. They worked fine I suppose (no physical ill effects from taking them together), but I have no idea if my dosages were ever right or if the combination of those particular two was ever right. Meds work differently for different people to be sure. I have been dealing with some depression issues and was put on effexor instead of zoloft to try and spell the depression and anxiety a little more effectively. Effexor also (allegedly) has some small similarities to Adderall and my Psych told me to consider trying to lower the Adderall dosage after a couple of weeks to see what happens. I was on Straterra first, and that might have worked a little better than the Adderall, but at the time there was no generic equivalent, and I couldn't afford the full price name brand. Anyhow, I hope that kind of sort of answers your question. The most important point there is that all meds work differently for different people. They're safe to combine, but their effects for you could be completely different than they were for me. If you have a doc/psych, keep working with them on the dosages until you are both satisfied with the results, or decide to try a new combination. Good luck. DeloresMelon 01-15-08, 04:37 PM i take 30 mg of adderall xr and 25 mg of zoloft. i take my adderall in the morning and zoloft before bed. the only thing I found was if i take more zoloft, my moods take a turn for the worse. i tried stopping zoloft, but still wasn't happy with the change. i was prescribed zoloft for what we thought was post partum depression. it wasn't until last summer I discovered i'm ADD. I'd like to chuck the zoloft all together but it's not causing any problems other than one more pill I have to remember to take. |
