Kk, so my doctor prescribed me 20mg Adderall today, for me to test out. The thing is, I've been taking (20mg) Dexedrine for the past two days, and I'm fairly sure I heard somewhere that if you're taking one ADD medication, you need to go off it for two days, before switching to a differant ADD medication. My doctor insists that I don't need to go on a drug vacation, but I'm still abit paranoid.

Anyhow, I really don't want to go on a medicine vacation so close to Exams, but at the same time, I don't want to have some horrible reaction in the middle of class.

Basically, have you safely switched medication from day-to-day without breaks? (Has it involved Adderall-Dexedrine?)

Adderall and dexedrine are very similar drugs; Adderall is 50% dex already. This, and that amphetamines have a very short half-life, there's no harm.

There would be no prob switiching meds from one day to the next. I went from Ritalin to Adderall. And sometimes, I will take a break from Adderall for a day or 2 and take Ritalin. Makes me appreciate my Adderall more.

If it is cool with the doctor I wouldnt worry. People react differently to both medicines one may find one more effective than the other, like to me Dexedrine is like "extra strength Adderall" but for others it is vice versa.
