I'm wondering if this is a trend or not.
I've seen a lot of people here saying that they feel very much connected to the natural world around us and take great pleasure enjoying it.
I've also seen people here mention caring about the damage civilisation is doing to the environment.
What do you think? Do you feel that you love nature more than most? Does it bother you more than most when you see people littering (like do you want to shoot them on the spot like I do :D)?
Do you prefer being outdoors to indoors (if the weather is nice!)?

Well, I'll be your first dissenter. ;)
It's not that I don't feel connected and concerned towards nature and the outdoors, but I wouldn't consider myself outdoorsy at all. Even in nice weather, if given my choice between an indoor activity and an outdoor one, indoor would probably win every time.
I honestly think it more has to do with upbringing than anything else... My parents weren't the type that brought their kids hiking and camping...

Yeah, I feel at home outside, away from people and technology. I would love to be a caveman and create my future.
I'm a gardener and love to re-shape and maintain nature. I feel like its my destiny and do everything on instinct rather than from knowledge.
I'm wondering if this is a trend or not.definitely so -
- the important bit to add though is that it is age dependent -
- a kinda' switch which kicks in
- in about our mid-30's which
->- thereafter ->-
makes us into rampant tree huggers.
I didn't really leave the house until I was in my mid-thirties -
:-)
- up until then my wife used to think I had an allergy to light -
- and feared my taste for reddish black viscous liquids*
and as for my nickname of 'Lord of dankness' - #3
#3 - oops!
I made that one up.
sorry !!!

I'm somewhat indifferent in this respect. While I enjoy being outside to a degree, it can be uninteresting at times. I was raised with somewhat outdoors centered parents as well. In terms of preservation, I am also somewhat indifferent. I don't like to see trees cut down, though things like occasional littering don't really bother me that much. As far as any correlations, I might think that there would be a negative one, as many of the impacts that activities have on the environment are not immediately realized ones (which it's the ones of the immediate type that tend to be more pressing for us). I'd think that personality would have more of a role here.

I'm from Oregon. I think there's a law here that you have to care, or at least pretend to. We recycle and take our cans back for refund. We don't litter. But that's really about as far as it goes.
I am more of an indoor person than out, but I do like fishing with my husband and occasional puttering in the yard.
