While on Strattera i could not sleep for 4 days. Finally went to the ER for something that would help me. Docs gave me a shot of benadryl, and a shot of Ativan stating " this will help you sleep ". An hour later i was wandering the halls, wide awake, no sandman in sight. It was almost as if the sedatives had not even been given. i've had patients of my own be given this, and sleep like babies. Why is it different for me? Anyone else encounter this problem?

Yeah. Doc's gonna put me on Adderall, but insists i have to take a liver function test, EKG, and drug test first.

You know what? I take a muscle relaxant to help me fall asleep. I told my doc it took me 5-6 hrs before I was so tired I had to go to bed. He said that was odd, the drowsiness effect was supposed to occur within the first two hours. The muscle relaxant loses its effect completely after 8-9 hrs, and I'm back to feeling awake (if I indure the incredible sleepiness: very, very hard). It worked different on me than on non-ADHD people. What happened later? If nothing happened the dose was likely to small, could that be?
