View Full Version : I got some dexedrine spansules!!!
I take 30mg of Ritalin per day, so 15mg of dex would be my dose theraputically.
I'm thinking this will help me with my anxiety,
I'm just worried about one thing? Is dexedrine worse for cardiac effects than Ritalin?
Luthien 01-18-08, 01:59 AM I'm picking up a prescription of spansules tomorrow, and my psych told me they lasted about 8 hours, no longer. I guess I'll find out tomorrow :)
Maybe there's different kinds?
I don't think dexedrine is worse for cardiac effects than ritalin .. they both up the blood pressure a bit and act as a .. frak, forgot that that word was .. narrows your veins somehow .. circulation is a bit lower --> cold hands & feet!
meadd823 01-18-08, 02:10 AM If I knew as much about a medication as you apparently do about Dex. I wouldn't take it - but then again that is me.
The skinny here is we aren't doctors - and even if we were only a crappy doctor would hand out medical advice to a person he has never even laid eyes on
Just incase there are any stupid doctors it is written in the guidelines
<O:p
This sight does not allow it's members to give out medical advice -
If you have heart problems taking a medication that is not prescribed would be taking a risk on your health plus this action would have the unpleasant down fall of NOT having any one to sue should said medication make your heart explode.
<O:p
The decision is your naturally however it must be yours alone - please do take note that any one who offers medical advice wasn't able to read or comprehend the ADDF guidelines, they missed the huge clue conveyed by this post nor were they bright enough to realize staff is watching this thread and their post will probably be edited. What All this means to you is said advice will probably not be of the finest intellectual quality. <O:p

I would ask your Dr to be safe about this. ;)

Aww, it's a fair cop. My bad :)
Crazy~Feet 01-18-08, 05:50 AM FTR, I am lucky to get 6 hours from my max dose of spansules, tops. More like 4-5 hours on average.
People's metabolisms can vary widely...I have seen members post here that Concerta lasts 12 hours for them. For me it lasted about 7 hours.

Wow I just saw the question as asking for medical advice we couldn't give - sleep moderating another one of my fine services. :p
Really . . . it would be a lot easier for us armature bio-chemist and novelty seekers by proxy {hmm I wonder what will happen if he take this - BOOM} to avoid giving out medical advice if people quit asking for it {IMHO}
lostwitness 01-26-08, 05:59 PM The spansules last 5-6 hours for me which is fine. As I take 15 mg in the morning, and 10mg in the afternoon.
It's the perfect dose!
flatlinez 01-27-08, 06:12 PM am I reading this wrong is he talking about taking medicine which wasn't prescribed to him?

Not anymore.
I had originally edited his post, but I obviousy did not edit it well enough. Sorry about that. :o
Thanks for pointing that out. ;)
flatlinez 01-27-08, 11:44 PM oh okay. glad to help. feel free to delete my tangent post. lord knows we all get distracted fairly easily ;P
Sorry, but I will never delete anything unless it is a clear violation of the guidelines of this forum. Even then, I am more apt to edit something long before I will ever delete it if possible.
In cases where someone goes off topic, I usually suggest that the thread try and stay on topic, and that is a far cry from editing or deleting something.
In fact, I'm actually quite tolerant as a moderator, except when it comes to matters of using prescription medications in ways that are not first approved by a Dr.
Wow, it's pretty damn vague/ambiguous now eh? :D

Good point.
This thread has run its course, and will now be closed.
Hopefully everyone reading this will keep in mind how little tolerance there is in the medications forum for any post involving illegal use of prescription medications.
