After getting my official prescription, I filled it at a local pharmacy , and was given Barr's version of the medication. I took it for one day and it had absolutely no effect on me at all. Then, I found this forum where many had complained about Barr. I was luckily able to explain to the pharmacist that this drug didn't work for me and I returned it (i paid cash). No cash refund of course for legal reasons, but I was able to get my prescription back, so I could take it to a pharmacy that had a different brand.
I found a pharmacy with Ranbaxy and filled my prescription. I was happy to find it, but started taking it today, and now the 10 mg twice a day I had been taking doesn't seem to be having the same effect from last week. Last week i was superfocused, and now, not so much.
Anyone have any useful feedback. It would be much appreciated. Should I increase my dosage? Anyone else able to compare Barr v. Ranbaxy? Was 1 day not enough time for evaluate Barr's medication? My thought was that adderall works immediately. Thanks.

Should I increase my dosage?
It is against forum guidelines for members to offer medical advice - if you have a question about your present dosage then I encourage you to take it up with the prescribing doctor.
I take the barr brand of Adderall and it is effective for me personally so I do not have any information for ya there.
Also if you ingest food that make you stomach more acid like citrus fruits or juices then stimulants will not absorb as well -
My regular release Adderall begins to take effect in about 20 minutes -

I'm confused. Was this your first prescription for ADHD medication?

I have been taking Barr's generic adderall 2x 10mg/day for about a year now and everything had been great.
Last week when I refilled my prescription they gave me Corepharma's generic product and ever sense, I have not been able to notice it working.
The only effects I get from the corepharma 10mg amphetamine is a feeling like I had taken a caffeine pill. My heart rate picks up but I do not get a feeling like I want to accomplish anything. In fact it kindive makes me feel like I want to go to sleep, but when I lay down im wide awake like I would be on caffeine.

I've also been taking generic Adderall manufactured by Barr for serveral years and have not had any problems. I noticed lately that I was not benefiting at all from the drug. That's when I realized that my local pharmacy had switched manufacturers, from Barr to Corepharma. I called the pharmacy today (before I found this website) and asked the pharmacists if they had received any complaints since they switched. She informed me that they hadn't. After a brief discussion in which I said that maybe children taking the medication wouldn't know to complain and she rudely informed me that even if that were true, that they are observed daily by their teachers. My point was that the teachers may not know the manufacturer was changed and the child might being blamed for changes in their behavior when it might be due to changing the drug's manufacturer. I'm glad I found this websit today and before I get my next RX, I'll call around and see if any other pharmacy in my area has the drug manufactured by Barr. It makes a real difference.

Cameron,
Lucky for you we live in same geographical area. I am in New Port Richey. I never got the real deal adderall (from what I read here others find it superior), but I was taking Barr generic since Jan 2006 and was quite happy with it, so I guess ignorance is bliss. I was always a Walgreens customer and first they changed my Clonazepam generic to Caraco. I thought I was being neurotic and did not know until discussing with my psychiatrist that there ARE reported differences in side effects, efficacy etc... among generics (well I was undiagnosed ADHD till 35 with many comments on report cards that I was not living up to "potential" hence the anxiety). I took a chance and went to CVS where I was given Teva for the clonazepam and so far, so much better. I did not like corepharma at all. I either felt "buzzed" or no difference in focus, concentration, forgetfulness....I found myself becoming avoidant about taking my meds and my ex-boyfriend does not believe in meds and pounced on this as proof positive that I shouldn't be taking medicine or "pumping" my daughter, whose ADHD is worse-w/ regards to hyperactivity impulsiveness, full of medicine- sees it as a weakness, but prescribes himself Budweiser:confused:. I finally came to my senses and got proactive about calling other pharmacies. Anywho, CVS still distributes Barr- I was very thrilled and they are my new pharmacy. Walgreen's just is too corporate and bottom line and will just adhere to the lowest bidder w/o regard to quality control or efficacy. Good luck! The location on Gulf Drive seems more reliable about their inventory, so should be close to home for you.
