Anyone ever had a day all your symptoms were gone and you could function normally? I mean naturally, without the use of (self) medication and no drinking the night before.

I had this in july and again 2 days ago. I'm in university so I'm facing a lot of problems now. I decided to hand in one of my exam blank since I had so little time I wouldn't pass anyway. I didn't feel like sleeping and I didn't have to perform so I decided to skip the night before the exam. Before the exam started I noticed I didn't daydream and I was a lot less shy. I don't remember ever being that social. So I came in and the copies of the exams were prepared turned upside down so no one could look at the questions yet. Seemed like there were 100 copies short (for 300 students), so we had to wait another hour on our seats while the direction was printing them out. There was only one guy to make sure we didn't turn our exams to look at the questions, but everyone did it anyway while he was looking the other way :p

So everyone knew half of the questions before the exam started and the answers were being passed on. I hadn't learned anything, so I asked some people for the answers so I could still have a 8/20 instead of zero. To my surprise I could actually listen to what was being said and remember each detail and half an hour later write it all down during the exam.

After the exam I went to drink with some friends and I was still a lot more social than usual. Off course it was all over the next day :(

Now tell you're experience :)

Nope. That's why I always though having my mind visiting all of the solar system was something normal. The rest of the symptoms come and go but the only constant is my mind flying; even at that time when I got drunk (which I'll never repeat, hopefully).

It's like that time 11 years ago when I discovered not everybody had a blurry vision like me. Methylphedinates are like my new eye glasses!

I thought it was a common thing for ADD/ADHD, ie symptoms varying day to day

It is variable, in my case as well, people are different and in some it may not be the case. Some days I am just really hyperactive and the other ADHD aspects of it arent there and it becomes productive, so there are also times besides symptom free days that I use symptoms to my advantage.

I don't think all my symptoms were gone. When someone asked me for an answer that day I was answering to a completely different question for a minute long before realising it wasn't right :p

I noticed that you emotionally reacted to my response but I was actually agreeing with you.

No, I wasn't disagreeing with your response. I was just saying that not all symptoms were gone like I thought.

Also could skipping a night of sleep explain anything? I've read it influences the production of serotonine.

Nope. symptoms are there all day, every day because i don't have meds for a few more days. Looking forward to having a break from them.

In my opinion there are many different factors that can contribute to a change in symptoms from day to day.

I've never experienced that with AD/HD but i do with depression - every now and then i will just have a period of what it must be like to not have a chemical inbalance, i feel really normal and happy! It drives me nuts because afterwards i realise how subnormal i really am, even if i'm not thinking of myself as being depressed. Its like there's a chemical shift in my brain. I don't know what the answer is Stabby and i think it can make you really frustrated trying to work it out. The last time i had a 'normal' period i'd had a tuna sandwhich for lunch - i spent the next week eating tuna sandwhiches, thinking it had something to do with it!

There are days like that.. Smooth days i call them.
But what if something goes wrong? You will probably over-react to it and that is ADHD.
Or maybe you'll be so calm you'll be daydreaming.. thats Also adhd. It doesn't have to come in an energetic hyperactive way.
It comes in many forms.
