How long is your drug holiday for? Ive noticed that when i go off adderall for a day or so i eat everything in sight. i took a holiday off yesterday and ate like 10 pieces of pizza. So today i thought since the holiday was yesterday and i didnt take any it would work better today, but it didnt work at all. was it bc of the fatty food i ate yesterday that its not giving me the same effect? How long of a holiday should it be for it to work like it used to? thanks.

What's a drug holiday? Is it good to take a break from your meds? Didn't know that...

I don't take it on the weekends - it keeps me balanced and keeps me from developing a tolerance to the amphetamines.

I think it can (possibly) make you more aware of the effects again when you take a break.

But whether taking breaks is a good idea is different for everyone I think. Something you have to figure out for yourself.

Some need to be medicated 7 days a week.

For others, its good to take a day or two off every once in a while to let the blood level drop. It helps the medication retain its efficacy in the long run, keeping you from having to bump up your doses after so long at one dose.

I can't take a drug holiday. Drug holidays are bad for me as I've learned along the way so I make sure to take my medications every day.

I do that too! With the eating everything... it must be why I haven't lost weight on it like they say you do.

I don't really take "holidays" but I just use them periodically. Once after I didn't take it for three days and got a lot of good sleep it suddenly worked really well when I took it again.
