Hi im 15 and think i may have add or adhd. i have just had a parents evening ( or review day what ever u call it ) and every teacher said i never concentrate and have a shocking attitude and no motivation . i would regard myself as being quite intelligent and motivated to get good grades in my gcse's.

over the last 2 years i have found it increasingly more difficult to concentrate i sit in most lessons and glaze over within a few minutes even if i am trying to concentrate and i can never concentrate on course work for more that 5 mins before my mind starts to wonder. therefore i have 3 or 4 pieces outstanding. and this even affects me in exams.

i dont want this to affect my gcse grades what can i do.

thanks
sam

Hi samt, Welcome to the forums

Just ask your parents or if you would feel more comfortable speak with a guidance counselor to address it to them about this issue and ask to be evaluated.

I think that with the facts that are apparent and what you describe, there is potentially something going on, most likely ADHD but that's why it is important to see a psychiatrist or psychologist or get some sort of neurological testing in order confirm a diagnosis.

Talk to your parents. If they won't listen to you or simply tell you "shape up" when you KNOW you can't simply "shape up," then find someone to talk to that understands you and wants to help. Make sure this person is someone that your parents will listen to because at the end of the day, it's your parents that make all the calls in your life (until you are 18).

1.see yourfamily doctor and he'll direct you to a neurologist to get diagnosed.

2. take meds

3. Update your doctor about the meds so he can moderate them.

4. You're done:) you should be much better off focusing and being motivated
