I think most people know this already, but I've seen conflicting figures. Since I just got it straight from the horse's mouth (Shire's biochemistry dep), I thought I would share.

total d-amp in 100mg Vyvanse = 29.6mg which is equivalent to 40mg Dexedrine or 4 10mg IR tabs (7.34mg -d-amp x 4). Now, if they would just share their plasma levels over time...that would be great.

I guess it doesn't really matter. The rate of conversion/delivery system is what is making me struggle w/ the Vyvanse. I'm able to have better symptom control by taking less total d-amp (45mg of IR Dexedrine throughout the day or 32.9mg total d-amp) vs. my current 100mg Vyvanse plus the 10mg IR Dex booster (36.9mg total d-amp). The numbers are pretty close, but the improvement in symptoms and side effects is dramatic.

Maybe this will help others, I don't know.

Here is a link with some plasma profiles:

Most of the medical studies I've found for Vyvanse are actually found when searching under the name "NRP104". Shire bought new river pharma. in order to acquire NRP104 which they gave the trade name of Vyvanse.

how are you taking 100mg vyvanse? 2 50mg caps?

i was on one 70mg vyvanse per day, and i am now trying generic (corepharma) adderall IR 20mg twice daily, and if that doesn't work proper, i'll probably try dextrostat next. i'm actually not too excited about the levo-/dextro-amphetamine adderall combination, since i am already used to the lone d-amphetamine in vyvanse (and i am very pleased with it).

but yea, i was having the same problem as you were with symptom control. i thought that vyvanse was absolutely amazing in the amount of time it was active, but i just need a stronger dose. i tried taking 2 70mg in one day, but i didn't notice any more effectiveness than just one alone. it was weird ... i figured it would have metabolized two at one time, but it seems like all the little vyvanse molecules just line up in one big ol' long line and metabolize one at a time, regardless of how much is ingested. or so that is how it seems.

though, i really really like how vyvanse has no "crash" ... i take one at 7am to wake me up (then i wake up at like 8am), i never even feel like i took a dose of anything *ALL* day long with relatively good symptom control, and then at night, i go to sleep easily like a "normal" person would. if they only made 140mg vyvanse, i would be set to go.

oh, and by the way, 2scattered -- you're like spot on for the d-amphetamine content in vyvanse. but yea, the plasma content is definitely different for each delivery style. i think i will ultimately like dextrostat the most. but, i'd like to know more about shire's new SPD465 ...
