Failure of Protection

My guiding hand of protection cannot shield you from everything
I strike at everything that comes your way, but from time to time, I strike too late
I do what I can to stop things before they come
But too often are things all ready done
By the time I had arrived, the battle was over, the war, I had not won
I strive for perfection, but I’m always a few steps behind
Like marching in a regiment, but not being able to keep up
Such as seeing your allies strike down enemies before they can fire a single shot, yet not being able to even load your gun

This too is very touching. I find it interesting, as my brain has trouble reconciling this as being by the same person who wrote about survival of the fittest... but obviously they both have meaning to you, or you would not have written both of them...

Gil this is how I feel toward's the daily challenges my children face; so I got to tell you not only did it make perfect sense it also brought relief "someone knows" lol. It is excellant.
