Has anyone been to or heard of the Pfeiffer treatment center? Apparently they take an orthomolecular approach to treating schizophrenia, bi-polar, depression, and other mood and learning disorders. They have treated over 20,000 patients since the late 1980's. They take a comprehensive health history and then also take blood, urine, and hair samples to look for excesses of heavy metals and other metabolic issues. They compare your testing results to their data base to see what treatment is most likely to work for you (they have found that most individuals with mood/learning issues fall biochemically into a limited number of categories). I like what I have read about them thus far. They seem to be honest in what they say they don't have success in treating (i.e. Down's syndrome, Tourette's syndrome, etc.). They are non-profit, so not as expensive as some places. Although based outside of Chicago (or thereabouts), they have satellite clinics at various U.S. locations throughout the year. "Quackwatch" apparently rates the Pfeiffer Clinic as "questionable", but I'm sure they would rate all alternatives that way or worse. Just wondering if anyone out there has had any personal experience with the Pfeiffer Clinic?
