Isn't it awesome that the gov't decides what we can and can't take? The state of Oregon's health plan will only give me bipolar meds and no stimulants even though I have had them before. They treated me like a meth addict for asking for them. So I went elsewhere.

You might have to reach deeply into your pockets (or your parents') and pay to see some sort of specialist who deals with adult ADD, not just some GP. It is worth it by far. If you have health insurance, USE IT, it is invaluable.

Strattera, Wellbutrin, Tofranil and Norpramine.

There are also nutritional supplements such as L-Tyrosine that you can get from GNC.

L-Tyrosine is awesome, and so are fish oils.

I don't have insurance. Sucks! I don't think the guy I will be seeing is a regular doctor. they say they have Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychologists.

Hehe - or a fisherman. There's a good old saying 'fishermen never die, they just smell that way!'

Also, Provigil. I think it should be "Ruttiger."

LOL

Students can get meds on Campus? Huh?

In my Hometown (100 000), the ONLY [good] Adult ADD Psychiatrist is AT the University. And he only sees and prescribes to, Univ students. ;)

It is v. hard to get stimulants unless you (a) have proof like testing scores/medical records or (b) are obviously 'hyper'.

Are you trying to get stimulants w/o proper paperwork?

There are some stimulating anti-depressants: Effexor, Wellbutrin, Manerix/Aurorix (only in Canada/Australia) or selegiline.
