Brief background: Was on Dex for about 6 months (10mg 3x/daily)... Got switched to Adderall IR 15mg twice daily, about a week and a half ago. I had been on Adderall in the past and surprisingly never had a preference in the "Addy vs. Dex" debate, so I thought this would be totally cool.

Well, nope, it's not cool. *sniffle* It's not cool at all!! :(

I'm seriously thinking the manufacturer is to blame (BARR). I don't ever remember Addy being so crappy! Shire and Ranbaxy IRs were just fine, and so was Adderall XR. I feel like the BARR IR tabs are doing nothing for my focus/attention, though I can sometimes feel my heart racing and/or pounding. Not cool!! I mean, don't get me wrong, it doesn't feel dangerous or scary, but I definitely didn't have these PNS effects while on Dex (and I had both Mallinckrodt and BARR Dex). *sigh*

I want my Dexies back... and I want them back NOW!!!

Hahaha! I knew if I didn't *completely* explain myself here that someone would ask. lol ;) J/k Brainie. I've been rantin' about this for a while now... My threads/posts are all over the place. I just left out all the non-essential details in this post so I could concentrate on pouting. :o LOL!!!

But I'll explain anyway. No biggie. Sooooooo..... First of all, I never had a preference between Adderall and Dex. I started out 3.5 years ago with Adderall XR, then later got some IR boosters. Took Adderall XR off and on for a while. When I was no longer covered under my Dad's drug plan, I got some Dex spansules, then later just Dex IR (10mg 3x/day) for a while. Anyway the Dex was getting hard to find and if my pharmacy that I usually go to didn't have it and if they couldn't get it in time before the prescription would run out, I'd end up searching like crazy for it. When I would finally find it, the price was much higher. Because I don't have drug coverage, cost is a major factor in choosing my meds unfortunately. :( If it was up to me, I believe I'd go back to Adderall XR.

But anyway... back on topic... My doctor basically said that Addy IR would be easier to find and possibly cheaper.... which ended up not being the case at all. On top of that, the Addy IR I got really sux.

So, conclusion? I think I'm going to ask for my Dex back. Also about a week prior to my doc appointment, I'm going to make sure my pharmacy will have it in stock ready for me!! :)
