ok.. I have been with my husband for 4 years.. married to him.. And he still says that he does not eblieve that I have ADD.. I have tried countless times to try and explain it to him... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Get him in a room with a lot of ADD people and let him see we are almost all alike...or YOU SHOULD BRING HIM HERE....we'll set him straight!

Tell him you no longer believe he is sane.

If he tells you you have no right to decide that, ask him why he has the right to judge your sanity?

What's his position on the subject? Does he think that ADD is a made-up condition, and doesn't exist at all, or does he simply think that you don't have it? What's his argument?
I have never understood closed minded people, and I don't really know how to deal with them - if logic doesn't work, I usually give up trying to convince the person.

Give him a book to read--the EP public library has several good ones on ADD.

Ok he has read some books.. and i think he's just confusesd about it.. I am planning on taking him with me to my counceling appmnt so that way the doc can talk to him :)

Amy if you go to DAD's picnic I will double my efforts to go...lmao...we should have no trouble convincing him once he sees us all together.

Am working on getting him to want to go to Dad's.. :)

BTW, I asked my wife today if my new dx explained a lot. She said yeah and then proceeded to tell me to go home, clean the basement, wash clothes, clean the back porch, etc. I just laughed.

She said it makes sense, but told me that I still had to change.

Ok here's an update.. hubby still resues to believ me unless he sees it in black and white.. sheesh.. I just dont understand him sometimes.. :(

You can tell me to butt out, but it seems like his support skills aren't as well developed as they should be.

My wife is trying to understand, but we will have to see how things go. I don't think she totally understands right now.

Why is it that he doesn't believe you are ADD?

He believes that there is no such thing as ADD or adhd.. and he is like those tourists that come into chat saying all we needed was a good smacking .. I just dont get it
