So I'm taking 50mg Adderal for ADHD and its really helpful I like it a lot...300mg Effexor XR was good but I guess it just stopped working for me cause I've started getting really depressed again (I have severe depression/anxiety) so today when I was at my psychiatrist she put me on 150mg of Wellbutrin to slowly ease off Effexor I guess? has anyone else taken these 3? I don't mind the weight loss cause I could loose a few pounds its just how quick possibly would it take for me to feel better? even if its just a slight improvement..I don't know if I could wait like 6 weeks to see some difference...

Wellbutrin takes some time, I know it is hard to be patient. Just so you know, there are some people who experience "prozac poop out" actually seen that term used when an SSRI/SRNI stops being effective. You were at a high dose of Effexor so the doc couldn't increase the dose. I imagine your Wellbutrin will be increased as you ease of the effexor.

Effexor can be a tough one to go off of, I had a heck of a time even with tapering. I don't know if that could effect the time it takes the Wellbutrin to work or for you to feel better. Waiting sucks, trust me, I know all too well.

I've never taken adderal or effexor.

The welbutrin will probably take at least 3 weeks for you to be able to see a noticible difference.

BritBrat,

V/I is right Effexor can be a real sh*t regarding discontinuation syndrome. I tapered off as effectively as I could and it still pranged me a good one. Admittedly, though I was probably a bit more "gung-ho" than I should have been. What can I say; I'm a guy...

The key is to maintain a gentle glide slope with it; make small dosage reductions over a large span of time. Keep in close communication with your health provider while you are discontinuing the Effexor as well; I kept mine updated every two weeks or so and he was able to Rx some meds to help with the discontinuation effects, but again, I was probably being too "gung-ho" about it.

It learned me though...when I came off of Cymbalta...I took my time. I have a high tolerance for pain, but a low tolerance for discomfort.

Take care,
ESM

I take Effexor xr and wellbutrin...I am still exhausted all the time.
The Wellbutrin counters the weight gain and sexual side effects
that happen from the effexor xr. I am starting to think i need another
med though to help with my energy. I am always tired. I get at least 8 hours of sleep and need more. I can sleep an entire weekend no problem.
My husband thinks I am very selfish.
