i just started wellbutrin a week ago
my shrink is on vacation for 2 weeks so i cant really go back to her for now and she said if it makes me anxious and/or uptight then i can just stop it
i realized that i do have a lot more anxiety being on it..shaking constantly..heart racing at random times..even anxiety attacks over small things that would usually not make me like that
should i continue and see if it goes away or should i just stop?
it's for depression cause my effexor really isnt working well anymore..

How long since you stopped taking Effexor?

still on it sadly...i hear it has really bad withdrawl symptoms so my psych said she'd take me off it gradually...she thought the wellbutrin would help cause it had a good reaction with my brother but its giving me a lot more anxiety then usual

That's exactly why I asked. I've heard Effexor is really tough to come off of, for some people. I wonder if what you are feeling is the Wellbutrin or the coming off of Effexor?

They put me on wellbutrin once. My mom does well with it, but I had a bad experience like you are talking about. Anxiety, heart pounding and then I started getting migranes. I wouldn't suggest you don't keep taking it. It sounds like you are having a bad reaction.

Sometimes this will go away, but it's not always the case. Wellbutrin does cause/exacerbate anxiety.

Is there someone on call for your doc who you could talk to?

Most people don't have to wean off of Wellbutrin like they do w/ the SSRI's, so that's good news.

Can you decrease your dose or are you at the starting dose (usually 150mg)?

Good luck d/c'ing the Effexor and take your time. A lot of docs don't understand what SSRI discontinuation syndrome feels like. (sounds like your's may be a bit more tuned in)
