I wrote this last time i was in withdrawl.

I don't wannna just kill myself.
...I wanna stab each thought individually.

get a can of hairspray and a lighter and burn the thoughts
crawling up the walls of my mind to death.

set a bomb off in my head and destroy it.

it sucks.

you feel cloudy, he world is a blur, you feel thick...and depressed.
...you don't know how to begin a task..

your body hurts.
your head aches
and you just wanna lie down.

you might be over medicated.
...stop grinding your teeth, and clenching your jaw.

relax your mouth.

...this is gonna sound stupid.

it worked for me.

if you get a balloon and fill it with enough water to keep your teeth apart, and just hold it in your mouth.

it willl train you to stop.

Withdrawal effects vary depending on your psychological state, and your other receptors (In my experience, Serotonin has had an enormous impact on its effectiveness). Typically effects along lowered sense of energy ensue.

When I was on SSRI, Adderall IR 30MG had me "high flying" for days. It's been four years since I was on SSRI, now an IR is hardly noticeable, and lasts, at most, four hours. I've been Adderall XR 60MG daily for three years (daily), and about to "cold turkey" within five days (not by choice, lost the scripts).

I once substitued Focalin for Adderall XR for a month.
For me:
*Focalin imposed a rigid, edgy feeling. I stopped taking it after several days, and decided to wait the rest of the month to see the doc again (for more Addy scripts).

*Adderall assists me (greatly) to relax and feel satisfied, removes a horrid anxiety I've had all my life, makes me feel "real"/alive, clean/fresh as if a "mental shower", gives me the ability to know when and how to completely (mentally and physically) halt a process, helps me sleep (I used to have sleep issues before taking it), among other things. My ability of tolerance for what I consider displeasure (dopamine inhibiting?) increased immensely.

Other bits from my experience:
*They both had the similar feeling of clarity.
*The initial three weeks of XR presented minimal side effects, mostly heightened joint sensitivity (ticklish feeling) and dry mouth, and all disappeared since.
*Both peak at around six hours.
*After a year's (daily use) of (60MG) Adderall XR, withdrawal effects (the heightened and focused energy) seemed to completely diminish betwen five and seven days.

I think it must depend on how much you were on and your particular system's response. I just got off Adderall after a month and a half and notice nothing in the way of withdrawal effects other than being a bit sluggish (and off course being very ADD again-- forgetful, lost sense of time, etc). It was the same when I quit Concerta and I had taken that 1 1/2 years.

i was off meds for a week and felt weak, tired. at first, i felt relieved. i didn't focus on anything i was previously accomplishing, and eventually the feeling of relief disappeared. my energy required frequent replenishing (multiple naps through the day).

Thats my experience too when I have not taken my Adderall for a few days or more (mainly because I forgot to go get my scripts on time). I just can't get moving, sleep all the time and my depression becomes almost unbearable. Doom and gloom all the way..

You deserve an award or something.

How on earth are you handling it? I feel for you, I really, really do.

Try this one:

I was on 120MG IR daily (30mg IR x4), 100mg Zoloft, 1mg Ativan for 2 years and was manic for the entire 2 years. The previous 6 years I was on 30-60mg IR daily. I was forced, against my will (not to mention illegally) to go off all 3 at the sametime cold turkey for about a month. The entire time I was being told I was a drug addict (Adderall) and that all my problems were because of the Adderall. My parents and my girlfriend all knew that I never abused the Adderall, always took the medication as prescribed, never once snorted it or anything like that. I refused to believe them so they kept me locked up in some hellhole surrounded by detoxing drug addicts until i obeyed.

I knew the entire time that the Adderall was not the problem, as it had helped me so much for so many years. I had not been advised of the dangers of SSRI's, especially when used in combination with stimulants. The first person to realize what had happened to me and why I went manic was myself. The mania started when my Doctor added the Zoloft and every psychiatrist and psychologist I've talked to agrees 100% with me that the Zoloft caused me to go manic. I had never been manic before so I didn't know that I was manic at the time. I've been back on the Adderall for about 18 months and I've been doing pretty good although I've been rather depressed (my serotonin is probably depleted from the Zoloft/Adderall combo episode.)

Let me just say that the experience made all my major middle ear surgeries look like vacations. It's rather scary to say that I'd rather die than go through that again, but to not say it would make me a liar.

Hutch1ns,
What is your current Adderall prescription? I mean, did you recently get it changed or changed again? I'm just asking because you said this in a different thread less than 2 weeks ago....
I take 100mg of Adderall IR a day and my BP and heartrate are in the normal range 1 hour after taking each dose (I take 6 doses, 30mg, 15mg, 15mg, 15mg, 15mg, 10mg.)
.....
I only needed 30mg when I was 13 but I need 90-100mg/d now that I'm 21.

Oh my gosh. So against YOUR will and YOUR PARENTS' will, you were *forced* into drug rehab for Adderall?
