Hello yall,

I have been on Adderall XR 20MG and this is my 8th day. I cannot deal with the side effects. Anxiety is horrible, head rushes, HORRIBLE acne breakouts and horrible sexual side effects. (CANT GET IT UP). My fiance is getting very upset as well. I do not know if these side effects will go away and from what I have been reading they do not go away. I am discontinuing use starting TOMORROW. Will I be ok stopping cold turkey???? Since its only been 8 days on these meds. I have also contacted my doctor and I am waiting for a call back but reguardless what he says im totally done with this med. Please advise yall.

I take Adderall XR 20MG and I don't take it on the weekends and I have never had any bad reaction resulting from not taking it.It should not be a problem, only people taking the meds for a long time, like over 3 months I belive, or really high doses might have a problem.

Because we are not trained professionals we cannot give orders that a doc has to. Just wait it out until you hear back from your doc. If you feel you need to, go to the ER.

Erection problems are almost always a side effect from Amphetamines. Easy to solve that one with any of the ED meds on the market.

Most other side effects go away as your body adjusts. Don't worry about stopping cold turkey. You aren't dependent on the meds after only 8 days and amphetamines clear from the body every day anyways.

Ask your doctor to either: lower your dosage or switch to a methylphenidate-based medication like Concerta or Focalin XR.
