The official prescribing guidelines say contact your doctor if you have chest pains.

What medication are you on? I'm on Ritalin, I had one or two bouts early on of what might be chest pains, but my heart's been checked out and it's fine.

Make sure you cut out tea, coffee, cola and energy drinks, which could be contributing.

When I started adderall it caused physical anxiety that came in the form of chest pain/discomfort. BUT this does not mean that's what you're experiencing and is not meant to be a medical opinion. If you are concerned about it you should see a doctor. I saw a doc in the ER and $1400 later, they said I was experiencing anxiety. No insurance sucks...

Good point. Though problem with giving practically advice is the liability. The
official prescribing guideline says get a cardiovascular evaluation if you have chest pains. They are really cover their butts. I started to include that quote in my first reply but I did not want the OPster to rush to the ER.

Medications which act on norepinephrine a lot are more likely to cause physical side-effects like heart rate or blood pressure problems. People with heart or blood pressure problems should avoid stimulants because they put too much strain on your body and can cause heart attacks or strokes. Hence why previous posters have suggested that you see a doctor A.S.A.P.

Dextro-amphetamine increases norepinephrine a fair bit less than Adderall for example. It's because Adderall contains 28% Laevo-amphetamine, which produces more norepinephrine and less dopamine than dextro-amphetamine.

Rdm3000, how are you managing? As chest pains and subsequent heart attacks or strokes due to Adderall are incredibly rare; could it be gas or some one-off issue rather than the medication. Or if you feel it was the medication, it would help others to know.
