I know Adderall is supposed to be a stimulant in other words an "upper" but when I take it seems to act as a "downer" like this big sense of calm and relaxed feeling comes over me, which is totaly not what I excpected, does this mean its doing what it should be doing or the opposite, dont get me wrong I love the calm effect, just wondering if this is the reaction most of you are getting, btw I take 7.5mg IR 1x a day
Could be too low a dose. Common enough side effect though.
Don't assess the therapeutic effect by how you feel, rather gauge it by how you function.
Honestly, Adderall does the same to me and I'm on a MUCH higher dose than you are (30 mg XR in the AM + 10 mg IR in the PM).

Look at it this way: it's yet more evidence you have ADHD.
Normal people are unlikely to feel calm, drowsy or slugish under stimulants.
Still, you might want to try increasing your dose. The effects of amphetamines seem rather hard to gauge; one dose might make you calm/drowsy, whilst another might make you wired and alert.
