My 6th grade son has been officially diagnosed with ADHD and was just prescribed Metadate today. What are your comments regarding what we might see in his academic performance? He is currently a low C student who for several years has had difficulty in keeping focus.

Hi, my seven year old started metadate last summer. He isn't "graded" per se yet. But his performance in school has improved an incredibel amount. He still has the personality issues .. ie. talks too much ... is a know it all .. but he can now focus and learn. It's been a big big help.

Our son has now been taking his med's since 2/27, from 20mg to 30 mg. We can definetly see an improvement in his attention and he has been improving each week. He does have challenges sleeping at his normal time. Prior to meds, he would sleep at 21:00, now its 22:00 or 23:00 and his appitite is weak until 20:00. At 20:00, he will eat everything in site.
