View Full Version : Stunted Penis Growth
frogger235 03-04-08, 07:47 PM I heard that adderall stunts your penis, this makes sense since it does make it smaller when your on it, doesn't make sense that when you were a child you would adapt and grow up to be stunted, has anyone taken these pills since childhood can you tell me?

Well, I don't know how to put this in a way that is appropriate so I will just say that I have taken Dexedrine for years and Ritalin too, since I was young and umm, well I am considerably above average there, I am only 5'9" though. I don't know, I can say that unlike most men I don't have the desire to have a larger penis because it is adequate, so to speak. I find it hard to answer this question appropriately so if it makes no sense I am sorry.
ADDAWAY 03-04-08, 07:56 PM I wouldn't touch this post with . . . a ten ' pole!
ozchris 03-04-08, 09:31 PM Depends how old you are. Are you still in puberty? Have you not finished growing yet?
If it does stunt penis growth the difference would be tiny tiny. If you're already fully grown you obviously don't need to worry.
These stimulants stunt growth through decreased appetite and thus less food. They don't actually stunt the growth directly.
I am also a wee bit above average (nothing to write home about :p) and I took Ritalin from ages 7-12 or thereabouts.
haha! a "mine is bigger than yours" thread ;)
on a serious note, I would find it hard to believe that it would only stunt the growth of the 'ol fella! If there was some truth in it I would assume it would stunt growth overall otherwise we would be talking about some form of an intelligent chemical that could target certain organs of the body (sounds like an article out of New Scientist!!!)

I think the innuendo behind your first sentence in the post was inappropriate and extremely disrespectful to the OP. He has a valid concern and since nobody knows the answer, I think the purpose behind people saying they aren't lacking in certain areas was to quell his anxiety. Last time I checked this was a support forum.
ADDAWAY 03-05-08, 06:41 AM You're all good & a righteous dude (aka Ferris Bueller) Matt for gently bringing us back to what matters. And, yes, we were trying to assure. :)

no disrespect intended at all and I apologise if some may have read it that way!
Last time I checked the wink icon was a 'tongue in cheek' statement...a little humor was my only intention!
LittlePrincess 03-05-08, 09:57 AM I wouldn't touch this post with . . . a ten ' pole!
HAHAHAA! Sorry to disrupt the thread, but this just made me laugh out loud!! :D
No pun intended, right??? :p
Okay back to the topic... I obviously have no experience with this particular *ahem* issue. However, I'm going to say with confidence that I highly, highly, highly doubt that taking Adderall will affect your growth..... *whispers* "down there."
Not affected me...they call me the human tripod
;)
ADDAWAY 03-05-08, 10:16 AM LOL, ScottM! The occasional levity makes some of these serious or long threads more digestible for us ADDers!
MJwatson 03-05-08, 03:51 PM LOL Scott! remind me to put you on my "friends" list :D....I was just kidding....
**to the OP and Matt, I am sure nobody meant to trivialize froggers concern. Sometimes when we get too serious, or scared..a little chuckle can do some good. I am sure these posters were trying to make frogger laugh. But you are right Matt. We can't tell inflections and tone from text and a winkie face. especial if you are new...pretty nice of you to support him like that**
The issue~ Frogger, a few things hit me when I read this. How old are you now? Have you taken these meds or is that fear stopping you? Also, who told you that? Alot of people do not understand or believe in mental illnesses (for lack of a better word) and don't think medication is beneficial. Also, sometimes people say stuff to freak you out.
People used to do that to me in school all the time, just to watch me worry.
Also, as a woman (and I am being serious here) size isn't everything!.....(unless you are ScottM.....just kidding again...:D) So I'd say you are going to be fine kiddo, (musses hair) just fine.
But....seriously..how do you guys know what "normal" is?
There is no 'normal'. There is an average. I firmly believe, whether girls say size doesn't matter or not, it depends on the two individuals . . . Whether size matters depends on the individual and can go both ways! I could go into detail, but I do not know how to do so without being inappropriate . . .
Having said that, I've never heard of stims stunting any growth down there.
I say eat right, excersize, and be responsible. You'll get what your creator (whoever that may be with your beliefs) gave you.
You will be just fine, sir!
Matt S. 03-05-08, 04:08 PM Thanks for keeping it appropriate Jibber, I only brought up the point of things being appropriate and some people's humor because some people are sensitive and may take a joke as mockery and there are young teenage children who get on the site and those types of jokes are beyond their level of understanding as far as whether or not it is appropriate behavior.
LittlePrincess 03-05-08, 05:03 PM Getting just a smidge off topic, but..... I always found it funny/interesting/weird/whatever that it's the GUYS who are constantly worried about the size of "it" and NOT the girls!
Then again, maybe it's the same type of self-consciousness that women often feel about their bodies. "Does my butt look fat in these pants?" (Ring a bell, ladies? ;))
Anyway, the point is: Guys have a hard time convincing us sometimes how beautiful, sexy and HOT we are, while we sit there feeling fat and ugly. Maybe this, um, penis issue *giggle* is the same kinda deal, with the tables turned.
All we can do is reassure you guys that size doesn't matter, until maybe hopefully you'll believe us, have some confidence, and..... yeah! :D

That is true too, I have never had the genitalia insecurity problem so I don't understand it personally.
LittlePrincess 03-05-08, 05:36 PM That is true too, I have never had the genitalia insecurity problem so I don't understand it personally.
So you've said... twice now. We get it. You're huge.
(This is all in good fun, Matt... don't start flaming me or anything. :p)
I just happen to agree with Amykins. A little chuckle CAN do some good. When we lighten the mood a little around here, I think people can feel more comfortable to join in on a topic that is normally very *un*comfortable to talk about.
MJwatson 03-05-08, 05:43 PM Jibber- I get what your sayin'...without you getting inappropriate:eek:...and yes I agree. If the emotional compatability isn't there, the physical stuff won't stand a chance!
Matt~ so true..can you imagine some kid blurting that out at the dinner table? It does happen....My husband and I heard Drew (5yr) singing ALL the words to the Family Guy....yeah, we fixed that....:D (used personal story to illustrate that you had a good point) But thanks for keeping us clean!
Little Princess~ (haha you giggled) j/k I don't think you are that far off topic, in fact you raised some brilliant points! Women have those issues too! I guarantee you that if the guy was into me and took the time to make me feel smart and beautiful...I would not think twice about *ahem* his utilities. Which leads back to Jibbers compatability point.:)
Frogger~ are you worried about the general growth, or the ability to grow when you need it to grow. There is a pretty big difference. Some meds can cause sexual side effects.
I don't want to be too specific because, I have no Idea your age. These are public forums and pretty anonymous and although this is a good thread....I wouldn't feel comfortable offering advice like this to a minor.
Does this smiley make me look fat? :p LOL!!!
Matt S. 03-05-08, 05:46 PM So you've said... twice now. We get it. You're huge.

I don't flame anyone around here and I might add that you brought it up twice yourself and who gave you the idea that I flame people? I doubt I would have as high of a reputation point score as well as Thank You's and friends so I am confused. As a respectable member to many around here I do take offense to that. I don't mind humor but when this is a post that a nosey 12 year old girl with AD/HD may check out, I only try to imagine what I would think if I was her parent and how that would make ADDForums look as a site.
Now to recollect what I did post, the first time around I stated something to the effect of not thinking a stimulant effected that area of my body and the second time around I mentioned not having that insecurity problem. In neither post did I make any sexual innuendos like that and I am offended and feel harrassed because of that statement.
People get sued for sexual harrassment for this type of thing. As a guy, to have to worry about this let alone work up enough courage to ask a question like this takes guts.
MJwatson 03-05-08, 05:54 PM Don't worry Matt.
We understand your point about being sensitive to the OPs feelings and you are good at keeping us clean. But a little laughter can ease insecurities. I think threads take a natural evolving path and this one is now touching on the fact that insecurites belong to men and women too. If we didn't let ourselves relate to each other and laugh a little about something so personal we might end up crying!
Now, make a little joke....you know you want too! :)
***(I am not baiting you, or trying to make you mad...just the opposite...I know you are secretly hilarious)******
MJwatson 03-05-08, 06:00 PM Oh Matt, we must have been posting at the same time. I am sorry you are offended. I have never seen you flame...(even me hahaha) I didn't even now what flame was until last night..I had to look it up.
Your points are extremely valid as you can see from my above posts. Kids can pick up a lot of info that you wouldn't think of..so you do have a warrented concern.
I think Little Princess was just teasing you...that's all....sincerely
ozchris 03-05-08, 06:01 PM It's not the size of the boat it's the motion in the ocean ;)
That's what I always say.
Matt S. 03-05-08, 06:06 PM The OP was curious about whether or not Adderall effects penis size, he's probably scared about it, it is an embarrassing and sensitive topic and since we don't know him personally we don't know how he will perceive these responses.
I know my name isn't green, yellow or red, but I think it is at least considerate for us as members to show the OP a little respect about a cerious question he had. Is my request unreasonable?
Not according to the forum guidelines:
Etiquette:
*Please remember that ADD Forums is a place for support. All members should feel comfortable at ADD Forums!
*Please be respectful to one another. People come from all different backgrounds and many have different ideas and views on different issues.
*Treat your fellow members with courtesy (especially if you disagree with them).
*Treating staff members with disrespect is grounds for suspension/banning.
*Avoid the use of foul language, flaming members, discrimination and spam. This includes posts and private messaging. If you choose not to follow the etiquette rules/guidelines, your posts may be edited or simply closed with warnings by the moderators. If warnings are not followed, it could lead to a permanent ban depending on the severity.
*Language Etiquette - ADDForums is a family forum accessible to both adults and children. With this in mind the following guideline has been put in place:
In regards to foul language, when posting it is important to keep in mind that what you may consider normal everyday language could be, for others, offensive. In order to assist you we have a list of words which most commonly fall into this category, and if you happen to use one of them you will see in your Post ****.
In order to foster a healthy personal image in our members, the use of medical terminology for our bodies will be accepted in serious discussions. This terminology used in a derogatory or humorous manner will not be tolerated.
MJwatson 03-05-08, 06:26 PM No, you are right.
But think of it like this...everyone here is dealing with ADD/HD whether it be them, their child or spouse. For most people it themselves and they have underlying conditions. Everyone is here for support, advice, and to blow off steam. But we are ALL embarassed, scared, confused, alone. ALL of us.
Nobody is really wrong here. Some people deal with the emotions with complete seriousness and some are put at ease with light humor.
I have not seen anyone here be rude or make fun of another person for the purpose of being malicious. But I have seen jokes among friends, people laughing at themselves, people happy because they found a place to belong.
Point is....there is a line. You can be too serious just like you can be too flippant. :)
ozchris 03-05-08, 06:26 PM You're right matt that's very considerate actually.
however:
I think some people were just making jokes to get across the point that it doesn't matter how big your penis is! He's probably scared but there's no reason for that...if you know what you're doing most girls could care less about the size.
I'm just saying it doesn't need to be an embarrassing topic. These things shouldn't be taken so seriously IMO.
Matt S. 03-05-08, 06:30 PM We have rules to follow.
The median is around 5 inches IIRC. Median is better measurement than average, which is somewhat higher IIRC, 5 and and a half or something.
No one has mentioned the importance of girth yet! The sensation of being filled, is this not good?
MJwatson 03-05-08, 06:40 PM LOL Mincan!
I'll address girth..when you tell me and Little princess why guys don't address the beauty of a woman....is this not good? :D
(how did I get here?) LOL!

I have to agree with you there. I know that is the point the girls were trying to make. I would think it would be good to have hear the opinion of the opposite sex.
when you tell me and Little princess why guys don't address the beauty of a woman
In what way? Females are beautiful, nuff said.

Like I said, "all in good fun"..... Hence all the smilies:D and tongues:p and whatnot:eek: (i.e. I'm joking around :):):):):)).
*sigh* I just felt the mood was lighthearted and not uptight, though it appears that I was wrong. I apologize if I have offended anyone at all here.
At any rate, I think it's best I quit the thread.
LP OUT.
LittlePrincess 03-05-08, 06:56 PM I think Little Princess was just teasing you...that's all....sincerely
Amykins, you and I are definitely on the same page here.
THANK YOU! :D
I think its fine to joke around, so long as the guidelines are followed.
Sensitive topics like this can elicit jokes and snide comments, and while I would hate there to be no humor on the forums, I would ask that you all consider the feelings of others when posting comments.
That is all...now on with the show :)

Absolutely!
FYI to ppl reading this thread: When posting the "comment in question," I was completely joking and I thought Matt S. would take the comment as such. Never did I mean to step on anyone's toes or hurt anyone's feelings.
I love to joke around and poke fun back and forth. I always tell my friends, "Hey, I wouldn't be making fun of you if I didn't like you!" hehe :D
MJwatson 03-05-08, 07:09 PM In what way? Females are beautiful, nuff said.

but..if that was the case..why are all these women and young women forced to achieve the ridiculous standard to be considered "hot"

The media has a lot to do with that.... Girls/women think they must live up to the PERFECT size, weight, shape, etc. etc. It makes them think that guys ONLY want a perfect woman on the outside and they freak out over every little imperfection.
It's amazing though, when you meet the right guy... it doesn't matter what size/weight/etc you are. Once you connect emotionally, THEN the physical stuff happens. And he's going to think you are amazing, beautiful, perfect.
.... errr, well, at least that's what I BELIEVE the right guy to be. He may just be a figment of my imagination.

LOL!! Now is not the time to be concerned with YOURSELF!!!! Women are being placed 2nd to girth by the Short Circuit Robot!
Now get in here and POST!!!!!!:D

Girth too mincan, so don't worry ;) (hee hee just kidding)

Matt S. 03-05-08, 08:25 PM I want to joke around, but I would be the guy that crosses the line and gets the warning. (hyperactive-impulsive) I can only offer focalin induced 'Martha Stewart-rigid-anal retentive-rule abiding-drill sargent' right now, my meds wear off in a little while though so maybe something that isn't guideline oriented will be posted.
MJwatson 03-05-08, 09:55 PM Don't worry buddy...I won't let you take the fall alone! If you cross the line, I'll have to jump it with you! and then Princess will jump with me and so on...:D
OK, I hate to say this, but this thread has gotten so far off topic its crazy. The OPer has probably long quit reading it . . .
Matt S. 03-05-08, 10:50 PM Someone else has finally taken over as pseudo-moderator.
LittlePrincess 03-05-08, 11:38 PM and then Princess will jump with me and so on...:D
This is true. ;)
LittlePrincess 03-05-08, 11:39 PM OK, I hate to say this, but this thread has gotten so far off topic its crazy.
One of many, my friend. One of many. :D

Well, you've come to the right place! We of all people understand the hyperactive-impulsiveness and the issues with the meds thing. I just hated seeing you get all upset and defensive over a very, very small (definitely no pun intended:p) comment that was just keeping pace with the lighthearted feel of the thread.
These forums are pretty laid back. Nobody was cursing, getting mean, or talking about illegal activities. As far as I know, people receive warnings for posting blatantly inappropriate comments..... and not for something that you have to "read" into and twist things around to make it sound like it was a horrible thing, for example. (Hope that makes sense.)
If anything, I should have been accused of *gasp* flirting with you!!!! I'm just sorry that you didn't see it like that.
At any rate, it's all good. ;) *HUGS* all around!!!! :D

I guess Jibber is right...when people start flirting on a Penile Growth thread....we got problems... Now THAT is TACKY!!!
LOL!! I am totally joking.
If it makes anyone feel better..I PMd Frogger, and apologized for getting off topic, and explained that the joking was more intended to put him at ease not to run him off.;)
LittlePrincess 03-06-08, 01:03 AM I guess Jibber is right...when people start flirting on a Penile Growth thread....we got problems... Now THAT is TACKY!!!

That was a good idea actually. Thank you for doing that. :)
I think it's human nature (or perhaps it's just MY nature:confused:) to joke about things that are kind of uncomfortable to discuss.... which is precisely why this topic got so loopy! :p
Penis. Cool I can type Penis. Penis, Penis.
LOL! you are such a guy!!!:D
but..if that was the case..why are all these women and young women forced to achieve the ridiculous standard to be considered "hot"
Acculturation. T'is sad.
Also, what was said was true, once I connect emotionally with a girl, I don't care what she looks like, and obviously I never did as it has never mattered, it's all about the understanding and gettingness and soulmatery. Then they want to do something with me that involved the subject here... "Penis Growth"
MJwatson 03-06-08, 03:03 AM prin...I am famous among my family for laughing at the wrong time...(and very loud BTW) and making insanely inappropriate jokes...what can I say? My impulse control is HORRIBLE lol
Mincan~ who on earth can use a word like "acculturation" (no clue what that means) and then 'gettingness' and 'soulmatery' (totally get those) to tell a story of a love that was blind to physical appearance that shattered during a 'growth' experiment..LMAO!! Only you Mincan...and that is why you rock!!
I am so sorry if you think I am laughing at any of your life's hardships...snow shoveling, girl trouble, etc....I so am not..it's just the way you tell a story...I can just picture myself doing the same things....well, I haven't tried to grow anything....:D
Erm, my understanding of "acculturation" is that it is a modification of one's pre-existing cultural values and practices to fit within those of a new culture. It's often used in the context of immigration. How does typing "penis" multiple times relate to acculturation?
*genuinely confused*
LittlePrincess 03-06-08, 03:11 AM Penis. Cool I can type Penis. Penis, Penis.
*giggles* Penis! *giggles*

Yup, I'm the one who said all that.... So, it looks like guys like you DO exist! YAY!!!! :D
LittlePrincess 03-06-08, 03:13 AM prin...I am famous among my family for laughing at the wrong time...(and very loud BTW)
Ditto on that one. Amykins, are we long lost sisters or something? :D
Imagine that, a thread in an ADHD forum going off topic. :)
Sorry, it's just a tad bit amusing to me.
Anyway, to try to bring it back on topic (unless, of course it's already been done to death) what the OP may mean is that while on Adderall, he may appear smaller.
I dabbled in recreational drug use while in high school (around 12 years ago) and the few times that I tried cocaine, I always noticed that I wouldn't get aroused. I also noticed that when I took a pit stop that the ol' fella seemed a little shy. Kind of like I just got out of the pool.
I had never touched the drug after high school and, other than the caffeine in my coffee, no other stimulants as well.
But when I started Adderall, I noticed that while the medication was at it's peak, the ol' fella was going a bit shy on me again. After nearly two years of taking Adderall (with a brief spell of Concerta and another spell of trying to battle ADHD with no medication) it still happens.
After the medication wears off, everything is back to normal. Everything hangs the way that it should.
Perhaps this was the point that the OP was trying to make? If so, rest assured that if what you experience is the same thing I have described it seems to be perfectly normal and just a temporary side effect of the medication while it's kicking full force and shortly after.
Needless to say, I am careful to take my doses early enough so that I'm not affected in the evening should I be expecting "extracurricular activities" later on.
I'm sorry that I can't speculate on the longterm effects of Adderall being taken by a prepubescent child through puberty and into adulthood, however. That sounds like a question not only for your doctor but also for anyone intimately familiar with clinical trials in which children were tested. I'm sure someone here would be able to find at least an abstract of some sort that may mention something. Any pubMed gurus here?
Oh, and one last thing: joking and cutting up in a lighthearted tone is what helps me get through the day so I, personally, wasn't offended or in any way put off by anyone's comments in this thread. However, I do think that this may have been a sensitive issue for the OP and even though he may not have been offended, when it appeared that no one was really taking him seriously it may have discouraged him to post more and become more active. But who knows? I certainly never want to be a buzzkill or anything but you guys may want to consider what it's like to be the "new kid on the block" and coming out with a heavy question like that.
Or not. :) Please carry on with your regularly scheduled shenanigans. They're cracking me up. :D
Matt S. 03-06-08, 06:37 AM Well, you've come to the right place!
Thanks for the welcome, I just started coming here yesterday and all...
What's my attitude?
Well...
The fact that I actually get held accountable for my behavior.
it's not who you know...
(Can't We Joke Around????? here;) *wink* :D)
I am not being mean or anything, I sure wish I could get away with harrassing people...
Matt, I am here for two reasons to seek support and give it.
doink!
Matt...
I am not using the boards for that. So, you can drop the attitude!
(Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha :):):) another reminder that I am joking )
---------------------------> Off Topic <--------------------------
Another joke ;) ha ha ha ha ha
Time for me to find a thread that hasn't been threadjacked and derailed. ;)
Matt S. 03-06-08, 07:06 AM I'm a going to jack this thread to death why???
Nobody else seems to be getting held accountable for their behavior
What was the topic????
The world may never know
I hope I never offended anyone. It was not my intent. I personally have a difficult time taking anything too seriously - perhaps to a fault. If I did offend, I'm sorry.
So, to be serious: You are what you are and that cannot change (unless you have some big bucks). It's not the size that counts, it's how you use it. You could have the longest screwdriver in the box and just end up hurting someone else. Given the right size screwdriver, using it the right way can make all the difference.
I believe males place more importance on this than females. Just as the myth of having a big wallet....well. ok..that's maybe not a myth but you know what I'm saying. ;)
It's how you move and groove that counts, not the size of the tool.

ventyourpain2k5 03-06-08, 09:33 AM scottm, you forgot one thing. you can't do porn with a stunted penis, so even if he's skilled in bed, his life long dream to become a pornstar is ruined.

Holey Stromboli! What happened here last night? I'm away for 6 hours and I come back to this ;)
I am too dumb to do the multiple quote thing:
But I particularily enjoyed Matts whats your problem..Quote montage, followed by a lovely visual aide! And the other person who said "imagine an ADD board going off topic"
This makes a good point to Frogger..you are among your own people here! If you have shrinkage so do many others. A nice who really likes girl won't notice, or care.....But I really doubt you are stunted..really.. :)

You're right Andrew - I'm sorry.
*ahem*
While I hear that stimulants can stunt a persons physical growth (on the Y axis) I don't think it affects the guys Z-axis. So in *short* I'd say no (?)
Matt S. 03-06-08, 08:02 PM It may effect the person's total growth as a whole, I used the term may, only because there is an indication in the prescribing information of all stimulant medications involving long term supression of growth like scottm mentioned.
I don't think there is an answer, I did google and yahoo it because I was curious after the initial post, I came up short, no pun intended.
Tylerlee17 03-07-08, 10:49 AM Don't think so in my opinion. But when I step up to the baseball plate I'm swinging a baseball bat not a bamboo stick so....
LittlePrincess 03-07-08, 03:34 PM Well, hellooooooooo Tylerlee ;)
Funny Thread after reading some of this.
Quick answer to post number #1, .... No
Gonad growth is ultimately determined in the very early years of development by (3) factors. Genetics, Nutrition, and Human Growth Hormone (HGH).
Answer to future questions.... No, taking human growth hormone in the adult years will not make your penis grow bigger.

A Possible side effect is the constriction of the blood vessels that cause the penis to grow when arroused.. You're stimulated and it's hard for those vessels to relax enough to let an adequate amount of blood to do it's job.
You ever have problems uninating? Same effect.. :)
What i've done, is that If know i'll be err.. in need of things working correctly that night, i'll lower the dose, or skip the last dose of the day so it wears off enough..
I'm sure you're doc could help too. They don't laugh at you when you ask
