One thing I notice at work is how quiet the average person is. I am always always talking they say. I have a very active mind and can not stand just sitting there doing nothing and expressing my ideas and feelings.
On the other hand the typical person in my office seem perfectly comfortable just sitting there typing away at their computer and not communicating with anyone pretty much all day. Those of us with a ADHD mindset seem to like to communicate all the time.

i'm referred to as bitter because i'm constant reality and i sound like i'm angry but i just tell it like it is, i speak my mind right after someone says something so often it gets me in trouble

I think it depends on your personality. When I was working in an office, I'd enjoy chatting for a just minute or two with co-workers and then I'd be impatient to move on, wanting to get back to whatever I was working on. As a rule, I'm uncomfortable around people and find talking to be kind of stressful and tedious.
My son, on the other hand, rarely stops talking. It exhausts me just listening to him and having to constantly be responding to him.

i'm a talker. chatty. although, since adderall, i find chatting, (mostly phone) highly annoying, since it usually interferes with getting something done, which is a new thing for me.
In fact, since being able to actually get things done now, I've all but ditched one friend simply because phone calls with her were epic events.

I love talking and chatting but only when I can be involved and real...otherwise it's just effort for me. I don't think that the "average" person is particularly quiet, I mean, I see "them" in little clusters from time to time chatting up a storm...but often the things that I find interesting are offputting to them.
I know that my ADD has made it often difficult to know exactly what is "small talk" and what is just peculiar trivia. Generally people get used to me and my ad-hoc style, but that takes time and in the mean time they are quite quiet faced, uncertain how to proceed.
