I wasn't sure if this should be in general or the medication boards. Well here goes.
I'm 26 and I just went to the psychiatrist 2 days ago (he specializes in Adult ADD) and he said that I was 'the poster-child' for ADHD. One some test that he made personally (it was full of scribble and other things) I scored 3 on like 12 or of 15 things. I was on medication when I was a kid for ADHD but I have been okay for a long time. Work has been harder now that I hold more responsibility and my relationship has been suffering.
I've been on Focalin XR 10mg two times a day for two days. I take the pills and don't really notice anything dramatic right away. I seem to be a little bit more with it. But then when the medication wares off I notice how well I was doing but I cannot pin-point what I was going better at. I only do a little bit better.
I've got some self-esteem issues from not knowing how to talk with people and not having friends (because I don't know how to talk to people).
So my question is that could my psychiatrist just made a miss or that I malingered because I thought that I had ADHD? Just that the medication is not working as I had hoped.
