Hey ya'll,

I'm working on finding the right dose of Dex, and I wanted to know what has proven to be the most effective regimen for any of you that have tried a few different alternatives ... Including caps/tabs/both, size of caps/tabs, dosing schedule, best/worst generic brands, using a "buffer" med to enhance the Dex (such as Wellbutrin or Strattera, etc), or whether or not you have to use a sleep aid to pass out @ night.

FYI, my current dose is at 35MG a day (3.5x10MG IR tabs from Barr), but I am thinking it might need to be increased +10MG or so. Not sure. That all depends on how well I can optimize my current setup.

I'd really like to keep it at just *one* drug, but if I have to end up investigating Dex + supplement (for whatever reason, sleep, etc) to achieve the most thorough Dex effectiveness and coverage, I would like to also know what works for people. I'm trying to stay as "unmedicated" as possible, but I know how that goes ... ha ha.

This is buggin' the shiz outta me, because I really don't have the time nor the money to try every permutation of every type of drug from every different manufacturer, with or without supplemental medications for sleep ... And I was hopin' that someone who's had a few years experience in Dex might be able to shed some light on the subject for me.

Much thanks.

Daily exercise is the big factor for me and if you're trying to stay as unmedicated as possible you can't ask for a more natural way to add to the effectiveness of treatment.

That's so true. Americans have become so accustomed to covering up issues with quick-fixes that we don't even know how things originally were supposed to work.

You know what, I think that a lot of the time I am trying to judge the effectiveness of my meds as I am just sitting around doing nothing (well, studying or writing, but not anything physical) ... And so maybe that has a definite effect on how well the drugs are working. If I'd get up and be more physical, it would probably "work" the medications through my body more effectively before purging them out of my system completely.

Bah! They need a magical medication from happy land, that works for everyone with any ailment or disorder ha ha. That would be sweet.

Who knows. I JUST WANNA BE NORMAL !@*!(#**%#(! ha ha ha.

Are you still taking your Ranbaxy Addies?

Nah honestly I hate IR Adderall for the most part, I prefer the XR's so I dropped the 25mg XR + 10mg IR for 2 20mg XR/day.

working out daily and eating the right foods will help meds work the best.

One thing that works good for me is to make the first dose of the day the larger (mg) , then then rest of the day smaller to smallest (mg). I am assuming OP you are not insured? From what I read Vyvanse may be what you are looking for ie. one pill a day.
It appears it takes about three hours or so to kick in so maybe a IR DEX dose with the AM Vyvanse.

BTW the 35mg that you are taking does give you some options for trying a higher dose. I believe you said 35mg- 10/10/10/5 (four times a day). Is the first dose of the day so so or good? If it is so so you may consider talking with your doctor about going to 40mg using the extra 5mg for the first am dose 15/10/10/5.

Have you tried the spansule? Maybe go with this at twice a day- 45mg- 30mg first dose say 8am and 15mg at 2pm. Just doing some brainstorming here and hopefully some of the other members can throw some ideas at you also. Good luck.
