I've been taking 20mg IR in the morning and 15mg IR in the afternoon for about a week (less for a few days before). My dr. trusts me to tweak my dosage as I see fit, within obvious reason. I know the rule of thumb is to work up to the tipping point of benefits vs. side effects and then drop down.
Almost every day, I've been able to function much better than ever before. I'm calmer, a bit more effective with getting things done (a lot more when I commit to it), less frazzled by the thought of (non-essential) things piling up. It doesn't take as much effort to avoid my usual time suckers.
On the side-effect end, I'm basically fine, other than the dry-mouth deal.
I have noticed that I've sounded unintentionally short in conversation and usually realize it and correct myself (poor husband). I've also found myself hyperfocusing on some research/writing that I decided to tackle. I have to be very careful about not getting sucked in during the day, but find myself completely engrossed until midnightish, which is definitely too late for me. No insomnia, b/c I can get to sleep if I want, I just get "lost".
After a week at this dosage, part of me feels I've found my balance. The other part wonders if a step up actually exists. I guess I'm just afraid that I might discover another level of clarity that leaves me riddled with side affects and a big disappointment.
