View Full Version : Deja Vu all over again ...
ADDAWAY 03-12-08, 01:02 AM Do y'all run across strangers who evoke strong emotions within you ... perhaps (but you don't know for sure) because they resemble someone you couldn't stand, liked, shared a scary experience with, etc. (who knows) from early on in life?
If it's not that, then why do certain strangers give us that "deja vu" feeling? Is it an ADD intuition? Our racing synapses connecting pictures from the past, future or other time or place?
Teedrum 03-12-08, 01:27 AM i remember peoples faces but never names or were i know them from....so i get that feeling a lot.
I also get 'vibes' from people...not in a jugment sort of way...almost like there aura is negative so i don't wanna be around them type thing...don't know if its a connection or not. But i think about it alot
ADDAWAY 03-12-08, 01:01 PM Exactly, it's like the "aura" thing you describe Teedrum--vibing out from total strangers:
A$^&*%) aura
Buddy aura
Bully aura
Creepy aura
Devoted aura
Egomaniac aura
Loving aura
Machiavellian aura
Sweet & warm aura
Wasp-ish aura
etc. It's not like the creepy feeling you get when some stranger is walking behind you late at night as you go retrieve your vehicle from the parking lot. The person's face wouldn't be the trigger for the feeling. The situation would be the trigger. No, there are no apparent contextual clues to this "aura" business.
I really would like to know what may be behind this.
Teedrum 03-12-08, 05:15 PM lets amke it a project....that we'll neevr get to :D
Yea, I'm big on "vibes"
I pick up on those little things, those little things that I have no bisuness picking up on but I do.
If your talking to me, things like pauses between certian words, the direction your feet are pointing, how you are holding your hands, what you are wearing, what you are drinking, how you are drinking it, what did you do to your drink before you drank it, how you have you hand in your pocket, what you are doing with you hand in your pocket, were you are looking, how you keep moveing the eyebrow when I say the word "strange cat", is your watch up, or down, did you pause before replying, biteing your lip, lowering your eyebrows, lowering your eyes, moveing your gaze down, scratching your head, slouching, the tilt of your head, the way you are holding your mouth, how far are you holding your head out, or in with your neck, your sholders, your hands, you you SAY things, how you don't, how you are breatheing, how long do you hold your stare on a given object, how often you make ey contact, how soon you break it after you do, what are you doing to shield parts of your body from me,
it all drives me absolutley NUTS!!!! becuase without thinkinig about then, I just pick up on all of these things.
I ounce saw three guys walking towards me, long gants, simi-curled fists, nice haircuts, hoodies, and over shirts, dark colors, jokeing a luaghfing, Immidentley, I wan'ted to punch them all in the face...no idea why. maybe it was thier hand jesturs, proabley that, I know they wern't jokeing in good taste, later my brother ran into them, and confirmed that....
And if I'm talking to someone, and they look busy and break off with "yeas" I know that they don't mean to, but I just can't take it, it feels like rejection, and I just have to walk away from the conversation. Includeing those "protective stances" people get, it just makes me want to run. Even if they don't mean to you know. (Like, holding thier books with both arms near thier chest) "Ok, this person obviousley has isshues talking with me,...I'm just gonna get out of here" stuff like that.
ADDAWAY 03-12-08, 09:04 PM Vhan:
I know what you're talking about. I notice most details like that too.
The "aura" or "deja vu" feeling I get is instantaneous when it happens, more like your example of the three guys walking (without the clenched fists, the laughter or the hoodies). There's no giveaway. I catch a glance of a face as I pass it by on a subway, the face doesn't have a particular expression but I get this "deja vu" feeling about the person's personality or "aura" ... as if I know "who" they are inside. That's what I'm talking about.
I'm not trying to figure out whether I'm right or wrong about the feeling (if I do, great), but rather why I experience the feeling to begin with.
RunninL8 03-13-08, 10:53 AM For me the Aura and Deja vu experiences are 2 different things.
As far as deja vu, there have been a select few in my life that I have felt this with. These have definatly been people that I feel I was meant to interact with for some "higher" purpose. Some experiences were negative, some positive. I've learned from all. Sometimes I meet a person and feel immediately comfortable with and trusting toward them-they are totally familiar to me as if I've know them for a long time, my husband being one:). A few years ago I met my daughter's 4th grade teacher and almost blurted out,"Hey! I haven't seen you in so long! What are you doing here in ALASKA?!?!?!". But didn't, realizing I never saw the guy in my life. Not sure yet what his purpose is.
I definatley pick up on information from feeling other's auras. When I first started clinical work on people at massage therapy school, I felt like I was being imprinted with that persons etheric "essence". It was so unsettleing, it felt like that person was just hovering over and around me for the rest of the day. I was so uncomfortable I started to question if I should continue with that program. In class one day another student brought up the fact that they were experiencing this and the class just erupted! About half felt the same way and weren't sure they wanted to continue! We were asured that this was common for some people and were given excersises to do to protect ourselves and "brush off" the vibes.
Not sure all those people were ADD, but it was interesting. A lot of kinestetic people go into that line of work.
Sandy4957 03-15-08, 03:16 PM Here's an interesting article on a section of the brain that MIT researchers believe is responsible for deja vu:

:-)
for some reason I have the idea of a whole buncha' colour wearing tribes fighting for supremacy -
as metaphor for -
electromagnetic encapsulations (minds) -
fighting invisibly within the cavity between planet and magnetosphere -
the fight is based aound the strongest winning (where the strongest is both (the simplest ~and~ delivers the most explanatory encapsulation of reality)
- so the many warring models -
kinda' 'battle'
imagine a whole buncha' shapes zipping past others -
- changing in response to improvements gained through changing -
- rejecting changes if negligibly useful to the mind
(in terms of improving its reality view (definition -
as above
simple... ~and~ explanatory...))
... ... the completion of the battle -
- the battle ends with one mind for all -
- there can be only one
prior to *it* clonally expanding
(imagine virulence tearing through an entire population - at the speed of thought)
clonally expanding
simply wiping and reinstating other minds with its core
(we're talkin' class models here -
not details)
- and 'crystallizing' in the planetary cavity - which we call 'home' -
- a kinda' 'global consciousness' or 'Homo neosapiens class model' -
all minds on the planet representing instantiated objects therefrom
my point
- I guess -
is that just as the
red
colour wearing tribe
'd battle against the
blue
colour wearing tribe
for supremacy (with guns, machetes and truncheons) -
- so -
would the human (as in man behaving as man and not ape) equivalent (the mental equivalent) of this physical (lower (relative to 'mental')) level behaviour -
- so would the human equivalent f this physical level behaviour -
->-
logical models of individuals one and two battlin' in the air above our heads -
... and ...
- so -
would the exaptative re-use of 'conquest'
- however on the mental layer -
- 'bleed back' (-<- backwards -<-)
into physical level behaviour
- though -
despite it feeling that way (as though we want to fight) -
- we're not actually feeling *that* way because we want to rip their heads off -
- instead - we're misinterpreting our own feelings
- because these feelings are *new* -
- abd we don't have instinct to translate their meaning for us
the feelings arise
- because there's a massive disparity between our two mind states -
- meaning
all out warfare in the space above us some place
- and as fighting (of mind spaces) escalate -
- so does the 'bleeding back' into previous evolutionary character (behaviour) -
---namely---
- the desire to fight (physically)
the desire to fist-fight
becomes undeniably attractive.
I believe that the 'idiot' (lacking in intelligence) boss -
- and the bullying which is exerted on their 'underlings' -
- may well be the automatic reaction to the subconsciously delivered 'truth' - that they're(== idiot boss) 'worse'
- than the people 'below' them -
- resulting in their engagement in unfair 'bully boy' tactics -
- as subconscious reaction to the threat which the 'idiot boss' feels - on account of his mind being outclassed -
some place out there in virtual space -
where EM signatures of minds of reality -
of logical model sets
do
battle.
so -
this idea'd help with instant likes/dislikes of people.
it isn't really so difficult to believe -
we have a mind which operates on low frequency EEGs -
- and our earliest technological innovation for wireless communication involved low frequency radiowaves - and utilized the cavity between our two electrical circuits (above and below us) -
- or rather the deflecting properties of these electrical flows -
- to send radio signals for great distances without degradation in signal.
So - we're talking about an eminently possible phenomenon -
- and since electrical activity increases as we think ever more abstract thoughts -
- presumably we're becoming better transmitters ... ...
... ... leaving 'receivers'
'- those who fire together - wire together'
Hebbian learning.
Presumably - get people thinkin' :-) 'on the same wavelength' -
- to really know each other's mind
- and those people'd 'wire together'
we'd have
->transmitters-> and ->receivers->
<-transmitters<- and <-receivers<-
'cept unlike radio receivers of the 1940s -
- there's a tendency for our species to congregate at the same frequency -
- this is 'global consciousness'
prior to a single 'global consciousness' -
- we'd have had pockets of close couples -
wired to one another
- we're talkin' extension of a LAN to a WAN
:-)
WAN world
schwing !!!
Oh, sorry ADDAWAY! I didn't mean to get all off topic like that!
