Think I may have found a small bug/flaw in the program. The spell check works great on followup posts, however when creating a new thread the abc icom to click for spell check is not there, or at least I don't see it. That said I have been known to miss something that was directly in front of me.....

Please tell me I did not have another ADHD moment

there isn't a spell check within ADDF, therefore, it's something that's probably part of your browser,

if you need it you can always download iespell
http://www.addforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46858

or get firefox browser.

what browser are you using?

I use both ieSpell when on explorer and I some times use firefox - with explorer some times my browser freezes up - and I can't get any thing that is a right click to work when this happens I have normally been on-line an extended period of time - some times shutting down just explore and re-accessing helps this - I have never had firefox do this but it has problems of it's own - no such thing as the perfect browser

Hello Courtney

What I was attempting to say in my previous post is the "ABC" Icon with the check mark was not on the screen when creating a NEW thread. Before responding to this post I checked it again and it is now there.

Either I had an ADD moment, which is highly possible, it has been fixed or I had a browser problem.

Anyway, Thanks for the reply!

Well it is there some of the time and I did not have an ADD moment, nor is it a broser problem as I have the issue on two different machines.:D

What I have finally found is, the ABC is present on the "quick reply" screen, but not on the advanced screen. So if you do a quick reply it's there. If you are on the quick reply screen and "go
advanced it is not, nor is it if you do a quote from the thread page.

My guess would be, the modification was added to the quick reply screen, and there is a different procedure, sub routine that does not have the mod. Hopefully with more information it will be easier to track down:)

Admin can answer these types of questions better than I, however, I do know that ADDF does not have a spell check within the (vBulletin) program, which is why I was giving you other suggestions and asking other questions.

Hopefully admin will pop in here and see what's going on.

I was glad to read that newfdog's spell check was working (somewhat).
ADDF doesn't have a spell check within the forums.

but, firefox does within its browser (it underlines possible mis-spellings. or you can check out David's thread about iespell (with link to download)

If you do a quick reply at the bottom of this page and provided you have IEspell installed (which is great for most applications) you will see an ICON to the far right above the text input box with a check mark and ABC. Click on the ABC and it will open the spell check.

So it is a yes and no whether VBulletin has a spell check, but it does have a "hook" to a spell check prg.

IEspell can be downloaded at http://www.iespell.com/download.php. This will only work with IE as far as I know. It can normally be invoked by doing a right click.
