Hi everyone :)I just wanted to ask your opinions on a certain something that has surfaced of late. Relatviely recently...say past few weeks/month or so, my spelling has gone a bit...off. I've always had the occasional slip-up at the end of a word ('d' changes to a 'g' and vice-versa at the end of a word, although not every time), but now it happens much more frequenty, and the order of letters I write is incorrec.t Or sometimes sylbales - that happened today when I was talking. Looking ofer what I've just written, I can see some mistakes I've made. I've left those in deliberately to give some idea of whats up- handwritten and typed. Its a bit annoyed when I'm trying to make notes in class and things. Does this happen to anyone else? My spelling in the past has been pretty much above average, and before I've manged to catch myself when I slip-up with the ds and gs before I hadn in any work, but now its seemigly all letters regardless of where there are in a word and my spelling is starting to fall apart a bit and is worsening.Any ideas anyone? I'd suggest that it would be caused by lack of sleep, but I'm actually sleeping relatively well lately - I get around 5-6 hours a night compared to the avergae 4 I used to get. Any ideas or suggestions as to what's up are much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this :)- Jeane

(Sorry that there's no spaced paragraphs in the post; I'm using an unblocker to access the site and it seems to hate me spacing posts out like i norally would. Its because I blocked addforums during the January exam period so I wouldn't get distracted, but thanks to my stupid fiddling in some computer file I cant UNblock it! After monts I stil haven't found a way around that:/ )
Hi Jeane, have you ever been tested for dyslexia? Sometimes, even though we're good spellers our eyes deceive us and turn the letters around. Also, have you had an eye exam of late? Are you diagnosed ADD and if so, are you medicated? Just a thought.

Hi Mary thanks for your reply :)No I haventbeen tested for dyslexia. I had 20/20 vision though last time I was tested. We had to sing the song '20/20 Vision' in choir once for a concert...I still remember the tune...And a few years earlier, we had to sing a song in Latin and at that time I was only 9 or 10! It was quite a hard song too - we had a strict music teacher. Strict but fair though.Anyway, no I havent been tested for ADD; I just get extra help in school regarding organising myself sometimes. Quite a few peers recognise something odd, but dont know what to call it, and one or two others have suggested I see someone about it and called it 'that attention disorder thing'. My dad says I'll grow out of my dysfunctional behaviours.....I've been waiting for years ;) My spelling's a bit better now - its just with note-taking. I think maybe it was just a bad period or something? Either way, if I write slowly I dont seem to get my letters and words mixed around as badly so it is alright. Thanks again Mary :D
