Hello all,
Well this is my first post. HI.

I've been on Strattera for the past year and it started out great. I had amazing focus on my work and life and i thought i was set.

But now, the side effects are FAR out-weighing the good effects.

-can't sleep
-fast, irregular heartbeat
-hyperactivity then dead tired, then insomnia, all in the same day
-wild mood swings (9am: Gosh i love life 2pm: I'm so lonely. I'll never get married, etc.)
-finally, feeling really weird. I'm a straight-laced guy. I've never drank, smoked or done any drugs, but this drug makes me think i'm on something. :(

So, tomorrow is my doctor's appt. It wasn't scheduled until sometime in April, but i've had it to here with things so i requested another appt.

I'm going to request something else from my doc tomorrow and i've been researching things tonight. I've got the following 3 drugs in mind:
Vyvanse, Dexedrine or Ritalin

I'd appreciate any advise you folks have on and or all of these drugs. Also, i'd be interested to hear from people who were on Strattera and then went off onto something else.

Thanks in advance for any help or comments.

Heya Rmethod welcome to ADDF :D

Your situation isn't very uncommon, lot's of people start on Strattera when they are first diagnosed, me included the reason is because it's not a "stimulant" but works for a lot of people.

For me, I began feeling faint and noticed that my blood pressure had actually dropped although it was never high to begin with. Anyways, went to my doc and for some reason we avoided Ritalin or Concerta (they're both similar) and tried Adderall/Dexedrine which eventually did the trick.

I highly recommend looking through the Medication forums, there's bound to be a plethora of 'switching' info there.
