I've been feeling better mood-wise.. Not sure about the concentration part yet.. but i'll let you guys know..
Anybody have any luck with omega?
RunninL8 03-21-08, 07:32 PM I'm very interested, too!
I have been taking (100mg 3 times a day) and L-Tyrosine (500mg) for the past 2 weeks and I am also on strattera. There is a change in my mood, energy, focus and memory. So, not sure if which one is working or if all are helping.
ADDAWAY 03-21-08, 07:53 PM Hard to tell with all the meds workin' at the same tie as the Omega-3, but it sure doesn't hurt. Good health to you!

Iluvpoptarts 04-10-08, 06:10 AM Well i thought i'd let you know how its going
Its working =]! I feel more awake and alert. My mood has been much better too, i'm pretty cheerful most of the time, i'm taking it morning and noon. No sideeffects.
I'm not taking ritalin at the moment.. I stopped because of the side effects, but i'll start again next week.
brownrabbit 04-10-08, 07:27 AM yep im giving fish oil a go seeing i have to wait to get onto ADD meds. And i am very drug sensitive so maybe its all i will need. Been a couple of days, but im more motivated for sure already. I was taking a lower dose 1000mg i think 180/120 epa/dha, and now i am taking 4X that. Must admit its hard to find info on recommended dose for ADD..... ANYONE KNOW THIS????
catecholamine2 04-10-08, 11:00 AM I was taking 2000mg of fish oil per day (360mg EPA/240mg DHA), and didn't really notice any effect, so I've just started on double this dose (720mg EPA/480 DHA).
Is this dose and EPA/DHA ratio similar to what others are taking?
I figure even if it doesn't help much with focus/attention issues, the other health benefits make it worth continuing. Any comments?
ZappedMind 04-10-08, 11:54 AM I started taking 1200 mg of Omega-3 awhile back and while I didn't notice any difference, I did notice the difference when I stopped taking it for a week. So, the change was subtile and gradual, but when I went off I noticed that my focus was less and just overall didn't feel 100%. Couldn't figure out why I felt that way, then realized I hadn't been taking it. So, I started it up and about 2 days later was back on track.
Granted, I still have brain FOG... but now believe it to by Vyvanse... and I have PROOF! See another thread I will be starting on that.
FrazzleDazzle 04-10-08, 02:28 PM Yes, yes, YES! My son and I take 2 grams of fish oil per day. Morning is 1 gram (1000 mg) 03mega+joy which is very high EPA to DHA, 20:1, and evening 1 gram of krill oil for it's benefits, which differ quite a bit from the high EPA, for us it seems. Ended up for a couple of weeks being off of the 03mega+joy only for a couple of weeks and noticed a huge difference in mood and concentration. Sooooooo, back on! Several grams a day can be taken safely for most, and along with meds as well, but check with your doctor first as there are some contraindications with some conditions.
So happy to hear it's helping many of you! :-)
Retromancer 04-10-08, 06:43 PM I have been ingesting 6g of straight fish oil daily. (2 x 1000mg capsule x 3 times a day). This may be on the high side but I have learned that I have a high tolerance for everything --even adjusted for body mass. (I'm 6' 4" and over 300 lbs...) I have been doing so for the last four months.
I will credit it with helping to keep my mood stabilized -- at the least. I am out of work now and I am at risk of going into a depressive downward spiral. ADD + depression + unemployment is not a good mix. I have had no medical coverage since losing my job over six months ago. I have been working episodically as a
temp since then. Whenever I have had a paycheck come in I have bought the fish oil out of it.
