I thought it was funny one time I was stocking shelves at a grocery store and I was putting up some spaghetti sauce. I kinda had one in the crook of my arm and was straightening (or putting one up) one on a shelf. I saw it fall. As I watched it slowly fall (you know how sometimes things fall in slow-motion), I barely loosened my grip on the other one so that fell too. OOPS! LOL. I always feel so guilty when I drop something like that at stores. Chelsea17 03-21-08, 10:43 PM I'm a klutz too! MJwatson 03-23-08, 10:10 PM I am a major clutz, I always drop things or run into something. Anyone else a clutz? Wow,...I could fill a book! Here are 2 of my favorites... Once I was walking up a ramp (like for wheelchair access) and I looked over and waved at someone and tripped. I busted up my knee and spilled my coffee....so I walked into work, wet, crying, bleeding, limping and coffee-less. I was playing church league softball and I hit the ball and took off running and all of a sudden I felt this searing pain and my leg turned to led! I just fell down! and I scramble /crawled to 1st base. I had to be helped off the field (covered in that white lime stuff) again....crying. Turns out I tore my thigh muscle! (ps I was safe!):p Oh and Today I hung up a shirt in the closet, turned around and tripped over my husbands size 13 tennis shoe, landed on my knee and elbow which slid out from under me resulting in a wicked rug burn! ............but no, I'm not a clutz......LOL! :D newfdog 03-23-08, 10:20 PM I am a major clutz, I always drop things or run into something. Anyone else a clutz? mybe not in the normal sense, but I am always putting my foot in my mouth... I hope that still qualifies.... so I am not of topic kwalk 03-23-08, 10:48 PM I'm a huge clutz too. My one friend used to think I purposefully tortured him. I broke his cell phone charger because I sat on his bed and the bed shifted it. I also sat a mop down once and destroyed all his progress in a video game because it ran into the plug outlet. O yea when you go to a clothing store, do you tend to run into all the clothing racks and knock everything down? I probably knock atleast 5 things down everytime I go into a store. mmmm and If I have a shopping cart, I run into something when I'm trying to get around things. scuz 03-23-08, 10:55 PM I looked over and waved at someone and tripped. I busted up my knee Just on Saturday, hearing on the radio K-mart (like target) 20%off easter eggs, so after work off i went.. i find like 20 million people in the egg isles, and i trip over a empty box filled with crinkely plsatic egg deviders in it, (it couldnt have been any louder as went A over T.. landing on a knee, the whole 4 isles went quiet and heads poped areund all corners to have a geez:(:o To make this worse, (still getting up) the employee says "Did you break any eggs"? with a blank stare waiting for an answer. got up, sped to the kitchen dept where i suddenly think to self " good escape, i dont need anything from here, and no eggs in the basket":o gave it 10 mins for the witnesses to clear then headed back in cogneto style, lmao.. todays conclusion: black & blue brused knee cap:( and a handfull of the few eggs that were left. maybe next year'll be better. lol. Jarleigannor 03-24-08, 10:11 AM We consider breakage to be a family trait around here (hmmm)! I grew up never having a matching set of dishes/glasses in the house. First because my mother would break tons of them, then because I started breaking things. A few Christmases ago, my mother even broke a wine glass from my sister *before unwrapping the box! I do have matching dishes in my home, because my mother in law bought us two full sets, knowing my "affliction". I have about 8 glasses from 3 different sets. I even managed to shatter one and slice my finger open just before leaving for the hospital to deliver my son. My 6 year old chipped my favorite coffee mug a few weeks ago. She is officially a member of my tribe. We are forever bumped, bruised, apologetic, bandaged and within 15' of both ice and heat packs. Call it adhd, call it my genetic destiny, but don't be so quick to call a doctor. Whatever it is, we have a first aid kit for that! "Did you break any eggs" LMAO....sorry...sorry.... but I fell like I have lived those kids of scenarios constantly! I am now a master at pretending I am not hurt!! Makva 03-24-08, 09:46 PM I never considered myself clumsy until I was being assessed for minor nld. The psych asked if I had some kind of spatial awareness issues. I didn't really understand. Then she asked if I was clumsy and I replied, no-I don't think so . . . then she asked it a different way, do you often bump into things? The flood of realization hit me and as I looked at my life I realized that I'm a TOTAL klutz. Now I can't help noticing it more and more every day. Kind of annoying. Another thing I do is when I am walking next to someone on the sidewalk I often veer into their path and all of a sudden they're on the grass. I've learned to be more cautious about this because it makes it super obvious that I'm weird. kwalk 03-24-08, 09:59 PM haha I'm the same way. I never walk straight. What did he say about the spatial awareness thing? Lynx777 03-24-08, 10:08 PM Oh ya, CLUTZ! Couple of years ago I tripped on a 2x4 board. I fell so fast, hard, and flat, that my face and the family jewels hit the ground at the same time. The guys in my shop still rib me about that. Makva 03-24-08, 10:27 PM haha I'm the same way. I never walk straight. What did he say about the spatial awareness thing? Well, honestly I can't really remember much of anything beyond what I put in my last post. I do remember her asking about parallel parking, which I am pretty good at, but I'm assuming that would be part of spatial awareness? She did diagnose me with minor nvld (mostly my non verbal working memory). Not sure where the clumsy thing fits in . . . maybe more on the adhd side of me, as many others here seem to have the same problem. I'm still waiting for her report so I can remember exactly what she told me. I knew I should have taken notes. . . livinginchaos 03-25-08, 12:59 AM add me on to that list, Chelsea! I'm always bumping into things . . |
