I'm so glad I found this forum. It's a relief to know there are others like me struggling with staying on task,

If you lived nearby, then we could be friends and have someone who really understood us. How would we meet? I might run into you in the neighborhood one day while walking the dog. Hmmm, except I always procrastinate walking the poor thing and now he is getting too fat. Well, maybe I would run into you at the grocery store. But, I get lost in the grocery store and then have to run back 2 aisles to get the peanut butter even though it was on my list (BTW, my husband makes a grocery list by listing items in the order he would find them in the grocery store. Go Figure?)

If we did meet, I could invite you over for dinner. I've always wanted to invite some over for dinner. But I don't, because I'm afraid I would forget all about it until about 4 p.m. and people were supposed to be here at 6:30 and all I have in the house are Schwann's frozen pizza. It's likely I actually had a whole menu planned out, but I forgot to go to the grocery store. Maybe I did make it the grocery store, but got sidetracked by the Little Debbie snack cakes. I can't remember exactly what happened.

Oh well, it's just good to know that you guys are out there. Have a great day.;) -- Five

i would not mind frozen pizza and little debbie snack cake, hey i would even bring something to add to your menue, that is if i dont get sidetracked on the way to the store myself by something i just had to stop and take a picture of, and then run home and get it on my computer to send to the store.

I also organize the grocery list by where things are. Heh heh. But then I still end up browsing all the aisles. The visual cues help me remember what we are out of.

I tended to rely on this...but then the store changed it's freakin' layout! I hate it when they do that. Takes me 50% longer to do the shopping AND I forget stuff.

I let others do everything for me including dinner ... don't worry I'm in control, is what they think. ;)

It's probably not too hard to meet kindred souls who are also wandering chaotically around the supermarket looking for things they forgot..... well, unless you're not paying attention....
.... and I always just seem to run into the people who don't particularly understand.... :)

Bahhahahaa! If this was meant for me, you just about nailed it. My score on my diagnostic evaluation (whatever that means) was not quite that high,, but my diagnostic impression does say "She exhibited severe impairment controlling responses... and severe impairment in mantaining visual attention to cues"
