This is the first time I take Concerta for ADD. Actually, I never took any med for that condition as I have recently been diagnosed at the age of 35. I don't really have any reference point to "rate" the effect except for the daily dose of caffein I have been taking for years! It's been four days at 18 mg and so far, I think it help. I can focus and feel calm overall. I feel like I finally have that "sound filter" turned on. I am more willing to start doing task than before. I don't feel the needs for coffee.
I don't have many side effects. I have mild headache at the end of the days, which is something the doctor told me I would have at the begining. I don't have any trouble sleeping. Actually, I can easily take a nap right after lunch (1 PM).
The effect does not seem to last more than 8 to 9 hours. Actually, I barely notice the "landing". I take it at around 6:30 AM. At 2 or 3 PM it seem it is gone. The doctor told me to double the dose to 36 mg after 2 weeks.
How are people around here manage to get the effect last to at least 6 PM? Does the effects I described fit with someone having good result with Concerta?
Your input will be valuable to me.
