View Full Version : New Feature: vB Experience - Activity Levels
I'm still toying with this but as you all can see I have added a hack that totals up more than just post counts to show activity. This may require some tweaking and all, so consider it still in the testing stages.
You can see what all it takes into account to get those results by going into your profile page and clicking on the "vBExperience" Tab.
meadd823 03-27-08, 02:58 AM As usual I can't find my vBExperience tab - it is probably in plain sight but that doesn't prevent me from being totally incapable of finding some thing.

Tracy H. 03-27-08, 09:28 AM Tammy, you can just click on your user name and it's at the bottom of the drop down menu :)
L..can you screen dump that too ?
please :)
FrazzleDazzle 03-27-08, 10:47 AM I want to know how Luthien did that!
all you have to do is click on your name ..at the left side of the page, anywhere you posted. It will show you your vbexperience levels along with option to send private messages, and other options. Much easier than going into your profile page to find it. It actually takes you to a list of everyones.....and you still have to click on your profile page to view the whole thing.
meadd823 03-27-08, 11:56 AM See I knew it had to be in plain sight - I never can find things in plain sight just like I always seem to miss - those places people swear
"you can't miss!!!!" :p

Luthien...us mac folks should stick together. Macs are good and bad for my ADD :) Good cause I can get so much more done without waiting like I have to with windows....but bad because it's so much fun and distracting!

it's not mac specific. Get a screen grab tool .. I use the free mac tool SnapNDrag (http://www.yellowmug.com/snapndrag/):

there's countless tools like for Windows I bet.
Then edit the image, if needed, with image editing software ... I use "the Gimp" (open source / free) .. there is a Mac version too, next to Linux and Windows ones.
Then upload the image to photobucket or what have you and link to it.
I'll do a step by step one later .. but it's not that hard.
Luthien 03-27-08, 03:29 PM this has been buzzing round in my brain since yesterday but forgot to ask ..
what does vB mean? I associate "VB" with the horribly pointy-clicky microsofty so-called programming language Visual Basic
*shiver*

despirit 03-27-08, 03:34 PM In Windows you can use the following keystrokes to copy the contents of the screen into the clipboard:
PrintScreen = Copies entire screen into the clipboard.
Alt+PrintScreen = Copies only the active window into the clipboard.
After you copy it, you can paste it into any image editing software to save it. If you don't have anything fancy, you can use MS Paint which comes with windows. (Start->Programs->Accessories->Paint) or (Start->Run... type in mspaint)
I use IrfanView for viewing, saving, resizing, cropping .. it's free and very minimalistic. (link (http://www.irfanview.com/))

Back to the original topic, please!
Please, Court, just one more? You really had me going when you quoted David's post and your warning to get back on topic. I thought to myself, oh dear, that's so not David and then I scrolled all the way up the page . . . LOL! :)
The "offensive" modification has been deactivated.
