I've been opening the main forum, then in another tab any sub forums, and then open more tabbed threads from each subforum. Only 5 right now, but I just got on here. :D

Hmmm,... more "one at a time" people than I thought there'd be... interesting...

but so far, it seems that most of us have 2 or more going at once :-)

My usual thing to do is go to my Control Panel, and open up every recently changed subscribed thread each in it's own tab. So I could have around 10-12 ADDF threads open at once.

And I usually have around 60-70 tabs open in Firefox.

I almost always stick to one window (I have issues with tabs, lol) per website, but I usually have 5-6 websites open at a time. It isn't enough for me to thread hop, I need to site hop!

Counting them...
OMFG...13?! I though only Wikipedia had enough power to make me open more than 7 tabs!

I can't deal with tabs either. I usually have 30 windows open at a time, and I want to see all the titles when I click on the bottom bar icon. With tabs, I still end up with 15-20 windows, but now only see the title of the first tab of each window. If something is in a 2nd or 3rd tab, it "hides", and I have to go clicking every window to find the one with that tab.

How do you get a thread to open it its own window so that you can click on a 2nd thread from the 1st window?

Start using Firefox.

My tabs show more information than my minimized windows. Your screen resolution must be about 3840×2160 or something. :D

I don't have a need for them, but Firefox has a bunch of tab manager add-ons. Check this link out for some different types of Firefox Tab Extensions (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:1/cat:93).

I think you might already be doing this if you have so many windows open, but what I do is just open the main forum, and then right click and select "open in new tab" (or window) for any sub forums or threads that I want in their own tab (or window). Then I start going through the sub forums/threads until I'm done with them, and work my way back to the main forum by closing the sub forums/threads I'm done with.

For some browsers like Firefox, and I think IE7 now, you just click the link with your scroll button to automatically open the link in a new tab.

Thanks. I just open browser after browser, so I have 30 windows open of completely different websites. I should have remembered right click/open in new window.

I won't admit I have a computer science degree.

LOL, yeah there are new things to discover every day. You can't keep up. Doing the right click thing should really speed up getting to the threads because you won't have to re-navigate to the website each time. However, having that many browsers open at once is probably seriously eating up your system resources.

It might be some extra work and getting used to, but Firefox is really amazing. I never really saw much of a need to change until I started getting extensions for it. That link I provided in one of my previous posts will bring you to the list of Tab Extensions. You should check some of them out just to see what is available. They are all free of course.

Right now I have a few extensions that I really like. I have an ad blocker that complete prevents ads from being displayed on any web page (it is amazing how plain some pages look because they are so cluttered with marketing BS). I also have a neat little tool in the bottom right corner that shows me where the server is of the website I'm at by showing a little flag of the country it's in. It really helps in explaining why some sites take forever to load. I have a download manager. I just recently got a script blocker, which prevents certain scripts from running (and possibly infecting your system) unless you choose.

My favorite is probably a weather tool (fits in an already existing toolbar) that you can configure yourself. I have mine showing the current, and next 3 days of weather. My favorite part is when you hold your mouse over the radar icon, it expands to show a time loop radar/satellite image.

It takes as much time for me to move the focus of my eyes from one part of the screen to another to find out the weather, and a half a second to move my cursor over the radar to see what's happening. Best of all, it isn't like those ridiculous Yahoo/Google toolbars that take up have of your freaking screen.

There are many more that I could get, but...... well... dammit, all of this talk about Firefox add-ons is making me want to start looking for more.
