I can zone out an annoying situation easily...

like waiting in a really long line at a grocery store, would frustrate a lot of people. Yet, for me, It frustrates me for a second and then I just zone out lol.

Or when I'm in an annoying traffic situation, or a driver ****es me off. I don't get road rage because I forget about it 5 minutes later or yet again.. I'll zone out.

I always get the "thanks for being so patient".. and then I'm like what hm? I didn't even notice I was being patient. :p

I zone out if I have something to think about. But sometimes I have nothing to think about so I'll sort of just turn my mind off, which leads to me not knowing what the hell is going on around me. Wait, that's what you mean by zoning out, isn't it?

I think my mind turns off...... lol I dunno really. I don't know what the hell is going on around me most of the time, so it probably is my mind turning off.

hehe this reminds me of the Bursar of Unseen University (Pratchett's Discworld) .. when he's due for another Dried Frog Pill :D

yes, I think zoning out is like letting go of all (futile) attempts to control what's going in in your mind. It's fun :)
