Ok, Total Hypothetical here. What would happen if there was some sort off Civil unrest, massive riots, war, anything that would cut off prescription meds. WORST TIME EVER to be without my wonderful adderall pills, Does anyone know if you can use high doses of caffeine to at lest ward of the lethargy?
Haha, you know I've only been thinking about this since I started taking pills in October...afterall, the long emergency TM and Cluster**** is coming to an oil dependant civilisation near you, bring popcorn... doubt you'll find any dextroamphetamine...sorry... have to use those ADHD instincts to survive the mutant zombie biker chicks.

Actually it's pre-Collapse daily mundane life that I have difficulty coping with unmedicated...
There's a certain freedom that comes when you realize that the situation is truly ****ed -- that no one is going to get bent out of shape when you do not possess the proper paperwork...

Amen suggests that caffeine will have the opposite effect of what you want, the increased alertness that comes from caffeine is your body's reaction to DECREASED blood flow to the brain due to vasoconstriction (right word?). He says that your body releases adrenaline in response to the lowered blood flow to the brain, and that's what makes caffeine "pick you up," but over the long haul it will cause a crash.
Seems to be true for me. I try to keep my caffeine intake relatively low.
