I just don't understand how I can feel tired all the time, yet I can't ever take a nap. I never can go to bed until like 2 in the morning because I find myself thinking so much, even if I get barely any sleep the night before. I just ALWAYS wake up ffeeling extremely tired unless I get like 12 hours of sleep.

Even when I had depression, took meds, and was completely cured I still was tired.

I feel like I can only get one thing done a day and then I'm pretty conked out. Sometimes I think it's my a.d.d., but I don't know :(. I feel like everyday tasks are just so tiring, especially listening.

I misinterpret what people say probably like 60% of the time, it just doesn't go through my brain right. I have to like ask questions to make sure I know what the hell they are talking about.

I know this might be considered chronic fatigue syndrome, but I feel like I would just been sleeping a lot if I had it.

My memory is the worst it has ever been, probably due to my anxiety. Getting things done is like impossible when I have to recall my memory. I couldn't remember my friends street address today, one that I had filled out so many times in the past and I have known since I was like 6. It took me like 10 mins to recall her street number and the street it was on. I LIVED ON THIS STREET FOR 12 YEARS.

There are so many other things I meant to write but I can't even remember :(

so I got a little hyperfocused and found this webpage that talks about chronic fatigue syndrome and how it can look so much like a.d.d.!

It also talks about allergy problems and sinusitis. I HAVE BOTH!!!

Oh yea the first complaint I ever had with my doctor before thinking I had a.d.d................. BEING TIRED ALL THE TIME (9th grade).

Hey, how old are you? (so I don't have to look through profile, etc)

CFS and Fibromyalgia are not just for older people... teens and young adults can get it, too.

My *suggestion* is this: If possible see someone specializing in arthritis. Tell them your complaints, if you have to, print out the symptoms list and check off all your matching symptoms. Give it to the doctor at your first appointment. They can go from there. Testing, etc

I have CFS and Fibromyalgia, along with a whole host of other ailments related to them. Good luck!

(Ironically, they're caused by the same lack of chemical deficiency as ADHD)

I was on a multitude of meds, because I had more than just the CFS. I took wellbutrin, a BP med, muscle relaxers, vicodin..... just to name a few. But I don't recommend that you go out and ask your doctor for a whole bunch of meds. In my case, I no longer take them because of co-pays being too high. I also realized something, the combination of the meds were causing more problems then they were helping.

I stopped taking naps, after getting up early. I started getting out and getting more fresh air. Working at inlaws farm, building fence. That is probably not so practical in your case. But are there any outdoor activities in your area.

One thing that helps me is to write before bed-time. Not a lot of tv, more quality quiet time so that my brain can slow down. Maybe some music to soothe the nerves.

When I changed my routine to the list above. I started sleeping at night again. I started having REM sleep again. Now I'm dreaming every night, when before I couldn't dream at all. When I started dreaming at night again. The pain lessened, the stress lessened. I stopped feeling so tired and drained.

Before that, I was sent for sleep apnea testing. Was sleeping maybe 2 or 3 hours a night and not able to nap at all during the day. My hair was falling out from stress. I snapped at everyone who looked at me cross-eyed. I was not a friendly person anymore. I even stopped coming in to the forums.

You're welcome... sorry I was in a hurry last night. I didn't mean to sound rude.

My twins just turned 20 on Sunday.

I haven't dreamed in awhile myself. I find it really hard to go to bed too, but when I finally fall asleep I can sleep. I used to feel rested if I got 12 hours of sleep consistently. Like in the summer when I had nothing to do,always felt a lot happier, less cranky, and able to get along with people more.

is it a good idea to get a sleep study done too?

I heard about provigil as well. Something that might be worth looking in to.

don't worry about it, we all have busy lives :)

I would talk to your doctor and see what he suggests.

k I will.

I think you're right about the drugs actually, I was just researching things that could help. It was saying things like pills, stimulants, coffee, caffeine just mask your tiredness and just makes things worse. Makes a lot of sense actually..This person was diagnosed and said he read the book called end The Tiredness Program.
He said nothing else worked because there really is no "cure" and it has a lot of just common sense stuff about being tired, it made a complete difference for him. I know they might just be selling it, but it's just a book. Not much harm in trying.

They also said something about how you really need to develop a habit of getting only a certain amount of hours of sleep everyday.( Probably 8 hours) Sleeping longer makes things worse.

I'm really tired of going to doctors and asking for pills to change my life lol. Also going to try finding some kind of diet that might help, and maybe get tested to look at what deficiencies sp? I might have. and acupuncture...

Anxiety = your body/mind are talking to you. "Hey, we need your attention. Something's got to change!"

--

How often/much are you exercising?

The first two weeks are hard, but getting regular physical workouts WILL eventually boost energy.

Exercise is also a great treatment for anxiety. One of the best.

Thank you... I have always hated working out, but I love yoga. Less strenuous, calming, and great for balance. ALWAYS came out instantly in a better mood.

That sounds like it would be a great course of action.

hmm i have adhd and often find myself tired alot sometimes i like to think that its beacuse during normal activities like school for instance where most people are just sitting taking notes im sitting there looking at the ceiling and vibrating because i cant sit still and then i get home and all i want to do is shut down. i also find that i suffer from mental fatigue more than physical fatigue and if when im feeling tired i just get up and do something that i can often get the tired feeling to go away (this results in me wandering around alot or taking three or four showers a day ) . and lastly if i do let my self fall asleep when im feeling tired when i wake up ill be useless i wont want to move or do anything and find it really hard to motivate myself

i dont know if that helps at all or if we are even talking about the same issue but thats how i have addapted to deal with allways feeling tired

hope all goes well for you!!
