Today I officially went to a psychiatrist to get tested for ADD. I basically told him that my biggest problem was reading/paying attention in class. 1 hour of reading 30 pages takes me 5 hours since I can't sit down and focus. I also made it very clear that I've always had these problems, and I was in the special needs program as a kid in middle school and high school.

I went through the 3 hours of IQ/Memory tests afterwards which i felt as if I did absolutely horrible at.To give you an example, when they asked for me to name off as many words that start with the letter "A," I could only name off about 7 in 45 seconds.

On the questionnaire, I'm pretty sure they're going to find me as an extremely anti-social person. I answered no to all of the drug and alcohol use since I do neither. I also answered no to symptoms of depression like having low amounts of energy.

They told me they're going to give me a follow-up in 2 weeks. What do you guys think they're going to do/say? I don't want them to put me on antidepressants. My personality may be cold and antisocial, but I don't want that to change. I just want to be able to do my assigned readings without getting up every minute. I really hope I didn't waste 600 dollars on 4 hours of testing.

It sounds like you found yourself struggling over testing items that are known to be hard for ADDers.

I know it is hard to wait for results and Test Report!

Some of us went thru hours/days of testing and those results can take a while (even a few weeks) to process, score and type up.

[Mine was 8 hrs ($1200) and took about two weeks to get back. [But... the longer the testing, and the more tests they do (like the computer keyboard tests and the headphone tests), the more likely they ARE to detect your problems.]

NB Due to the things that LD/ADD kids often go thru socially and in school, it would not be unusual for a tester to KNOW that a person may 'look' asocial on a [personality?] 'questionnaire'.

Hang in there, ok?
