I'm curious as to whether anybody else gets a sedative effect from Novocaine?

I have no idea if it's an ADD thing, if it may have to do with medication I'm on, or if it's just me. But, anways with in a couple hours after having Novocaine at the dentist I come home totally wiped out and need to sleep.

Novocaine does not work on me and neither do a lot of other pain releiver's...During my c-section the spinal med did not take hold as planned and they ended up having to pump a bunch of morphine into me. I kinda thought maybe it had something to do with my parent's having a drug problem's before conception and during my mother's pregnancy with me; But, I could be totally off base.

Novacaine isnt used much any more, but Lidocaine etc is used often. there is a vasoconstrictor in most locals, causing it to stay longer. the vasoconstrictor is usually epinephrine, and knowing what you know about add, theres your answer :)
