View Full Version : My OCD Neighbor

I have a older widowed neighbor lady that lives next door to me. She obviously has OCD. She goes out every day and and using a small kitchen broom and picks up all the leaves and debris in her yard and puts it in a small bag and puts it in the trash. During fall/winter this because something she will do 2-3 times a day.

Being a good neighbor, I try and be conscious of my yard and what has the potential to blow into her yard. After all, she is a pretty nice lady.

Well, about 2 weeks ago, I went out and cut down some tall grass stuff that needs to be done in early spring or right before. I even piled up a bunch of leaves that wher stuck in the flower beds and bushes by the house. But, I ran out of lawn bags, and the weather turned winter again and I've had focus issues the past few weeks and thus... she has had a messy hard for 2 weeks now.

The next day after I made the piles, my wife got a call from her asking me to put away my piles because they where blowing into her yard. Well, this just p*sses my wife off for some reason, but she is mental (and I cover that in a different thread)... and when my wife relayed the info I said, "yea, I know it is and I'll get to it when I do."

Today, I went outside, I had already made the decision to work on the yard today and use the mower to pick it all up... and she just happened to be outside and I started to walk toward her yard and said something and she snaps back, "You know, you could have spent 5 seconds picking up that pile of stuff over their, I have had to deal with that for 2 weeks!!!" I just smiled and said, "I'm sorry" and she changed her attitude and said, "Oh, your usually pretty good on this stuff." and the conversation carried on.

So, as I am MOWING and picking it all up later, I am thinking of what transpired and was kinda laughing at the whole thing.

Then... as I get done picking it all up and I proceed to trying to dump my stupid lawnmower catcher clippings into these stupid lawn bags, I can't figure out how to get it all done cause i hate touching that stuff, I don't like my hands getting dirty, especially with lawn stuff, I have allergies too. So, I go get a pitch fork to get it out and put it in the bag and I'm think... Haha, who also has OCD issues?

I don't know if I do or not... but kinda funny.

Cute anecdote! I have OCD. I TOTALLY understand! LOL!

You are sweet to think of your neighbors like that too.

Gotta lotsa of piles of brush ... overgrown weeds over cut, criss-crossing, strewn lumber (from 2 seasons ago) ... unpainted spottily spackled siding (5-yr.+ old spackle?) ... partially finished perfect projects ...

So everything is always slowly changing, growing nicely, with a life of its own ... mostly mold! :o
