I just stopped taking Adderall XR after only two weeks, and my blood pressure won't come back down. I know increased blood pressure is a common side effect, but I would think it would go away soon after it wears off. Anyone else have this problem??

I dont take adderall - Im on dex.

However my GP doc has been concerned about my BP for severall years-

I went to a BP speciallist and he suggested I go to a doc that specializes in ADD / ADHD.

Take Dexedrine now -(diag. adhd) - Bp has gone down.?? Im way more relaxxed now. Also tried Rittalin and BP went up just a tad.

Perhaps you need to find right meds for you?

Not sure if this helps any -

Stimulants are very short acting. Dexadrine is fairly long acting for a stim and it's half life in the bloodstream is only about 5-6 hours, tops. It's only detectable in urine for 5 to 7 days.
So I'd think that something else must be causing the elevated BP? Anxiety?
I know my BP is higher just going into the Drs office. I'm going on a 24 BP monitoring device for just that reason. It'll be interesting to see what my BP is sleeping or watching TV, vs fighting traffic getting to the Dr's office all the while worrying if my BP is too high for him to give me Ritalin (This is exactly what happened to me today).
You might want to ask your Dr about this kind of test, especially if your BP isn't going back down?
Good luck,
Greg
