Hi! I just wanted to discuss issues regarding ADDers and social life in Academia.

I myself made few friends, and even fewer close ones. Like in High School, I felt like I was on a different planet than my peers. Plus, most of my college experiance has been without meds, and my social skills are not the best. Plus, it seems easier to offend one's peers in a college/university setting.

i have no problem at all.

As a matter of fact thats prolly the easiest thing for me in colelge lol.

I feel like my meds make it even tougher because sometimes on the adderall i will get a little to testy but for the most part social life is bonafide :)

I found making friends throughout my whole life hard. I've had very few close friends and over the years we've drifted apart. I was just diagnosed at 28 yrs old and I think had I found out earlier it would've been easier for me.

For college it is easier. I would not call them friends, but I find that I am more open and willing to talk more. I probably actually say to much and people would wish that I kept my mouth shut. I even find myself discussing my ADHD, Tourettes, and OCD. I see it as a way of educating others in a college environment.

It was easier for me to make friends in college than it was in high school-- perhaps because I could find more people who were a bit eccentric and who can connect with me 'on the same wavelength'.
